Chapter 19
When the rescue team arrived, the scene was in complete chaos.
Everyone had shielded Aria.
Aria, protected at the very bottom of the pile, sustained the lightest injuries.
Next were the Pierce family and Maxwell.
The most severely injured were Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley and Lucas, who had protected Aria with their
lives.
Aria held them in her arms, sobbing uncontrollably. “Godfather, Godmother, Lucas, please wake up!‘
They were quickly transported to the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley and Lucas had lost a lot of
blood and urgently needed transfusions.
Aria immediately volunteered, but her blood type wasn’t compatible.
Seeing Aria’s anguish, Maxwell finally stepped forward.
He said bitterly, “My blood type matches Lucas’s.”
Then, Mr. and Mrs. Pierce and Connor stepped forward as well. “Our blood type matches Mr. and Mrs. Kingsley’s.”
The Pierce family and Maxwell stood at the blood collection station, watching their blood slowly flow into the collection bags, their hearts filled with mixed emotions.
Meanwhile, Aria anxiously kept watch in the direction where the Kingsley family had been rushed into the emergency room, her eyes never resting on the Pierce family or Maxwell for even a moment. Her heart and mind were completely focused on the Kingsley family’s safety, seemingly oblivious to the Pierce family’s and Maxwell’s actions.
Mr. Pierce looked at Aria’s back, the sting in his arm nothing compared to the bitterness in his heart.
He remembered how years ago, when Serena was hospitalized, he had anxiously stayed by her side, while Aria silently wept nearby, and he hadn’t even given her a comforting glance.

Now, with the roles reversed, he deeply felt what it was like to be ignored.
Mrs. Pierce bit her lip, tears welling in her eyes.
In the past, she had carefully prepared all sorts of gifts for Serena while ignoring Aria’s longing gaze. Now, seeing Aria’s disregard for her, her heart was filled with regret.
Connor frowned, his heart full of self–reproach.
He recalled how he had once helped Serena bully Aria, those past scenes repeatedly flashing in his mind. Now, Aria’s coldness toward them was like a knife stabbing his heart.
Maxwell’s expression was grim as he thought about all the hurt he had caused Aria, his heart filled
with remorse.
He looked at Aria, desperately hoping she would turn around and look at him, even if just for a moment, but Aria’s attention was completely occupied by the Kingsley family. They all realized this might be fate’s cruel joke–the way they had once ignored Aria was now happening to them.
Finally, the emergency room doors opened, and the doctor emerged, informing everyone that the surgery was successful and the Kingsley family was out of danger. Aria wept with joy, rushing forward to tightly grasp the doctor’s hands, repeatedly expressing her gratitude.
The Pierce family and Maxwell also breathed a sigh of relief at the news.
They stepped forward, wanting to share in this joy with Aria, but she turned and followed the nurse into the ward without even giving them a glance.
In the hospital room, Aria stayed by the Kingsley family’s side, taking meticulous care of them.
When Lucas woke up and saw Aria’s swollen eyes, he embraced her tenderly, full of concern.
In Lucas’s arms, Aria felt his warmth, and the worry in her heart gradually dissipated.
Meanwhile, outside the room, the Pierce family and Maxwell watched Aria’s closeness with the Kingsley family, their hearts filled with loss. Mrs. Pierce couldn’t help but cry out: “What do we need to do for Aria to forgive us?”
Mr. Pierce and Connor remained silent. They all knew that earning Aria’s forgiveness would be no easy task.
But now, they didn’t have time to wallow in their sorrow, because they had a more important matter
