Chapter 10
The suite was shrouded in darkness, a faint scent of sandalwood lingering in the air.
Nora slumped against the sofa, her cheeks flushed, and her breaths were shallow. She fought hard against the effects of the drug coursing through her veins, but the heat was unbearable, and not finding an outlet could harm her health.
Fists pounding on the door reverberated through the space, accompanied by the angry shouts of a few burly men. Soon, the security team arrived, forcibly driving them away.
Nora remained silent, faintly hearing a man’s voice roar in frustration.
“Who dares cause trouble on my turf?” Ryan roared. “My friend’s resting inside, so who are you looking for? Get lost!”
It sounded like the bar’s owner, someone Nathan knew, too.
Nora considered calling Nathan to pick her up and take her back to the medical lab, but after searching her pockets fruitlessly, she realized her phone was missing.
“Damn it,” she muttered under her breath, feeling the heat surge through her body, nearly overwhelming her senses. Each passing moment made it harder to think and harder to maintain control.
Letting out another deep breath, she stood up and staggered toward the bathroom, desperate for a cold shower to alleviate her discomfort.
Outside the bar, the three burly men were violently shoved out. Though upset that their lovely target had slipped away, they knew better than to offend Ryan.
In a secluded corner, Wendy fumed with rage.
“Useless idiots!” Wendy hissed. “You can’t even handle a woman who’s been drugged?”
The men silently hung their heads, and the leader said, “We’ll refund the money since the job wasn’t done.”
Wendy bit back her fury, her tone shifting. “Forget it. You’ve got it rough enough. Keep the money.”
She understood that offending these thugs would yield no benefit. Besides, she didn’t need the cash, so earning a favor would be better than holding onto a grudge.
The three men exchanged skeptical glances.
“But if this matter gets investigated, none of it can be traced back to me,” Wendy warned. “Whether it’s the drug or anything
else. Understood?”
The men nodded vigorously, accepting the cash Wendy had prepared for them.
“Rest assured. No matter what happens, we won’t say a word, even if they beat us to death,” one of the men promised.
“Wait,” one of them suddenly recalled something. “That guy who threw us out mentioned another man was in that room. Even if we didn’t get the girl, she probably couldn’t resist the effects of the drug.”
Wendy’s eyes sparkled with delight. “Really?”
“Of course, we heard it ourselves,” one of the men said.
“Tell me the room number,” Wendy demanded, barely able to contain her excitement.

Chapter 10
Whether there were three men or just one, as long as Nora had a one–night stand with a man, especially if the incident became public, her chances of marrying into the Sinclair family would vanish.
Though she was the legitimate daughter of the Harper family, this scandal would ruin her engagement to Andrew.
Eagerly, Wendy contacted a news agency and couldn’t wait for explosive scandalous news tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Nora stumbled into the bathroom in the suite, pushing open the glass door and nearly collapsing inside.
But instead of hitting the floor, her hands latched onto something soft and smooth, and it felt distinctly like human skin.
As she moved her hands down, she felt well–defined abs and something hard…
Startled, Nora instinctively pulled her hand back, but her legs gave out beneath her. Instead of collapsing onto the floor, she found herself caught in a pair of strong, sturdy arms.
“Why is there someone else here?” Nora thought, her heart racing as she took in the sight before her. The man was clearly battling the same predicament, standing under the cold water, much like she was.
“Who are you?” a man’s voice sounded low and husky, laced with an undeniable sensuality.
Under the drug’s influence, Nora’s heart raced, and she realized the voice sounded familiar.
“The man who was poisoned?‘ Nora thought.
Suddenly, everything clicked into place–he was taking a cold shower to combat the effects of a drug, just like she was. Moments ago, right under her nose, he had taken that spiked drink and was now struggling as well.
Andrew felt a surge of disgust and anger as he realized it was a woman in his arms. Without hesitation, he forcefully shoved her away.
ho sent you? If you don’t want to die, get out now!” Andrew’s voice was firm and laced with disdain. He assumed this was a
trick orchestrated by a rival, employing such a despicable method against him.
physical contact only worsened Nora’s condition, and she knew that if she didn’t find a way to help herself soon, she ked severe harm. At this point, she would rather have a one–night stand than face death.
Neither could see the other’s face in the darkness, and Nora remained silent, holding her breath as tension hung thick in the air. Her heart raced as she weighed her options.
After all, this man was undeniably handsome, and despite suffering from the effects of the drug, he hadn’t sought out a woman. He seemed like a man of integrity, a stark contrast to her initial impression.
‘We’re both adults, after all. Since he’s drugged too, and I have no way to suppress the effects, why not… Nora’s thought trailed off as she threw herself at Andrew.
Under the influence of the drug, Andrew lacked the strength to push her away, and the sensation of a woman in his arms shattered his self–restraint.
Cold water continued to cascade over them, but it did little to quell the smoldering heat between them. From the bathroom to the bed, it was destined to be a night filled with passion.
As the drug wore off, the night slipped away into a haze of oblivion.
The following day, Nora woke early, wincing at the soreness radiating through her body. “This man… is he a beast? He bit me

and left so many marks,’ she thought.
The man beside her was still asleep, so Nora carefully shifted and dressed quietly,
Suddenly, she heard a commotion outside. The sound of a large crowd mixed with voices discussing the adjustment of cameras filled the air.
‘It must be the journalists, Nora smirked and wondered if they were there to catch her or him. But she was determined to leave, regardless.
Glancing at Andrew’s peaceful expression, annoyance bubbled up inside her. She grabbed a piece of paper and hastily scribbled a few bold words, then fished some coins from her pocket and tossed them beside him.
“This is more than enough for your pathetic skills in bed,” Nora muttered. “Goodbye, and never see you again.”
Fashioning a makeshift rope from the curtains, she tossed it out the window and climbed down from the third floor.
That height was nothing to her. And, whatever that was going to happen, Nora decided to let the man handle it himself.
Meanwhile, one of the reporters started pounding violently on the suite’s door.
Reporters came flooding into the area outside the door, creating a chaotic scene, while Wendy sat quietly enjoying the spectacle in a nearby café on the third floor.
‘It would be even better if the person who emerged from that room were some ugly old man,‘ Wendy thought, a smug smile tugging at her lips as she leisurely sipped her coffee.
A scandal involving Nora seducing a sleazy businessman would stir just as much uproar. Wendy’s satisfaction deepened as she imagined the impending chaos, and she savored the sweet taste of her victory before it unfolded.
Ryan was jolted awake by a staff member and rushed to the third floor, still groggy and unprepared for what awaited him.
Faced with the reporters‘ relentless pressure, Ryan reluctantly inserted the keycard into the suite door. But before he could fully open it, the door swung inward, revealing an unexpected sight.
A man stood there, draped only in a bathrobe, his muscular chest partially exposed, radiating undeniable sex appeal. The sudden eruption of camera flashes illuminated the scene, but what stunned everyone was that it was a man standing in the doorway instead of the woman they’d been expecting. “Aren’t we supposed to expect the illegitimate daughter from the Martins? What’s going on?” one of the reporters whispered to the person beside him.
Andrew’s deep–set eyes were cold and unforgiving. As he watched the chaotic scene before him, his suspicions of being caught in a trap solidified.
The woman from last night had disappeared without a trace.
His voice was low but dangerous as he addressed the reporters. “If you don’t want your companies to mo hankrunt vou have
