Chapter 7.
Morning sunlight filtered through the curtains into our bedroom. I had barely opened my eyes when Dominic entered with breakfast, his expression troubled.
“Xavier spent the entire night waiting downstairs.”
I wrapped my robe around me and walked to the balcony. Xavier stood in the garden below, his suit wrinkled, dark circles prominent under his eyes.
Seeing me appear, he immediately looked up. “Aria, we need to talk.”
“We have nothing to talk,” I turned to go back inside.
“Wait!” His voice was hoarse. “About that day–I was drunk. But you shouldn’t have made the video public! Natalia is… She’s still a girl after all. What about her reputation?”
I cut him off with a bitter laugh, “A little late to play the gentleman after you’ve already slept with her, don’t you think?”
Xavier suddenly shouted, “You’ve always loved me! Why punish me this way? From childhood, I was the only one in your eyes!”
“My bad for being so damn blind,” I looked down at him contemptuously. “When you broke my leg for Natalia, did you think about my feelings?”
His face instantly paled as he stumbled backward. “How… how did you know…”
“Get lost,” I pulled the curtains closed. “Your precious Natalia is waiting for you at home.”
Xavier was forced to marry Natalia.
Meanwhile, Dominic and I flew directly to the Maldives.
Under the clear blue skies, Dominic finally confessed the feelings he’d harbored for years.
“Remember when you fell in the garden when you were fifteen?” Dominic gently traced the long–healed scar on my leg. “I was the first to find you. But when Xavier arrived, everyone else ceased to exist for you…”

Chapter 7
My heart clenched painfully. All those years I’d been chasing Xavier, there had been these ardent eyes watching me from behind.
During our honeymoon, Dominic proved his love through actions, not just words.
By the time we returned home, I was still pleasantly sore and nestled comfortably in his arms.
Just as we disembarked from the plane, a dark figure suddenly rushed toward us.
SLAP!
Xavier’s palm struck my face with brutal force.
His eyes bloodshot, voice trembling, he’screamed, “Why?! Why would you do this to me?!”
