I fell to my knees and touched her gravestone before punching the ground in anger as I sobbed. I felt hands touch my arms in hopes of stopping me. But I couldn’t stop. I lost my mate, the girl that I broke in many ways.

moved over to Promise’s grave. That was when my heart broke once more.
I was your sister right? Why did you not entrust me that you were dying of cancer Promise? Those thoughts continued to go through my mind. For sure I knew that I should be upset with her for keeping it a secret. But I didn’t want too for the thing is. I knew why she did it.

Nodding my head I hugged him. “Yes she is darling. She is flying in heaven and looking over us.”
I can already picture Promise smiling at me when I said that. She was happy that I choose my words
correctly.

I was sitting in the living room of the house that Promise once inhabited. I can smell her scent all over the house and it made me sad as I was never here to help her.
I regretted what I had done, and I did not like to know that the Goddess was punishing me for acting cruel and cold to my one and only baby sister.
My hands went over this knitted blanket that had her scent. Tears fell down my face as I clutched
onto the blanket.
“I am sorry for not acting like a brother to you… for acting as if I hated you when really… I never hated you.” I whispered as I lowered my head.
“Daddy?” A tiny voice called out to me. Lifting my head I looked over to the doorway to see my son, hugging his blankie while rubbing his eyes.
“Son why are you up? Should you not be in bed?” I asked him as he wandered over to me.
Crawling over my lap he hugged me tightly. Burying his face in my chest as I hugged him back.
“Don’t cry daddy.” He said as once he lifted his head up to look at me.
I froze at my son. He slowly lifted his hand and wiped the tears from my eyes. “Auntie wouldn’t like
it if you cried a lot.” He whispered to me.
