Promise
“Let’s go downstairs and make some food for dinner huh?” Lily asked me. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 5 already. It would take about an hour to get the food done, so I nodded my head.
I didn’t really want to stay in here, I needed company and Lily provided that for me perfectly. Slowly climbing off the bed, I walked over to the door, trailing behind Lily.
As soon as we reached the kitchen, Lily turned into her mom mode. She gave me orders and I followed them easily. Once everything was done, little Nathan decided to make an appearance. his hair was sticking everywhere, his cheeks were tinted pink and he was rubbing his eyes while holding his little superman blankie.
“Dinner?” He murmured. I smiled and walked over to him. Picking him up, I pushed away his hair and smiled at him as soon as he smiled back at me.
“yes, we are just done. So let’s get you seated up okay?” I said as I walked him over to the table. Gently putting him down, I gave him a paper so he can doddle.
Walking back, Lily smiled at me as she put the food onto the plates. I smiled and helped her, and when I thought things were going fine, it dramatically changed.
We all heard the front door being opened, but we both expected to hear one footsteps, instead we were greeted by multiple footsteps.
I didn’t want to look up, my inner self was telling me to continue my work and not look up. “What are they doing here?” Snarled Lily as she came closer to me. My eyes widened, who was they and why was she acting that way. So I decided to look and see who it was.
My eyes widened as I took in Kyle, Tyler, and Marie. I can feel the blood draining from my face and hands. Causing the spoon that I was holding to fall down.
I felt Lily as she touched my arm. “Dear, go upstairs okay? I will bring your food up for you.” Lily said soothingly. I wanted to do that, I wanted to not be in the same room as them. But then it came across my mind that I shouldn’t act like this. I was stronger, I can be in the same room as them, maybe not for a long time, but for a bit.
I looked at Lily, and knew that everyone was waiting for my answer. I smiled and shook my head lightly. “It’s fine Lily… I will be okay.” I said. She looked at me as if she didn’t believe a thing that I was saying until she gave up, but still she was being a protective sister.

My mind went to Loanne. Oh how she was really protective. She was even more protective to me whenever Issac would try to do something she was the perfect siser and mom that I could have. Then my mind wandered over to what she might be doing right now. Probably trying to clean up the mess that she did when I broke the news to her. That thought brought some unshed tears to my eyes, but I quickly blinked them away. I can’t be sad and be weak in front of them. They would attack me. As I thought that I did it successfully, i looked up to see Xavier giving me a sad look. Looking away 1 focused on what I was doing while Lily was throwing daggers at everyone.
“Baby please calm down.” Jayden said and that seemed to make Lily more agitated.
“Calm down? I AM CALMED DOWN! I JUST AM NOT HAPPY THAT YOU BROUGHT THEM! DO YOU HAVE NO FEELINGS FOR PROMISE?” She screeched at Jayden.
Theard him sigh, before he spoke once again. “Baby, the reason that they are joining dinner is that they want to make amends to Promise… as we all want too.” I can feel their eyes on me, but that didn’t stop me from doing what I was doing.
“Fine. But if they make her upset, I won’t mind kicking them out of the house. Alpha or friends won’t stop me. She is my sister, and i will take care of her when you guys couldn’t” Lily said, power coming out of her voice. I looked at her and smiled. she caught me and she smiled back.
This dinner with the killers is going to be very awkward….

I saw her eyes fill up with tears and she was blinking them away. it made my wolf and I whimper. we both wanted to embrace her and wipe her tears away. Heal her broken heart, but I know that nothing even her own mate can heal her. Oh what am I saying. We are going to be mates because of
what I had done.
After what Lily had said, I knew that Jayden was proud that she was his mate. The Beta female. Strong and protective. It did warm my heart as she said that she was Promise’s sister, but I knew that Jayden would like to say that but he couldn’t. He didn’t want to upset his mate and my mate.
