Chapter 6
Unable to convince his parents, Drew came to my house to beg my family instead.
It was Anne who opened the door for him.
As soon as she saw him, she reached out her arms and wanted Drew to hold her, but Drew was in no mood for that now.
He simply patted her on the head and gestured for her to go play on her own.
The living room was a mess with discarded items piled high.
Amidst the mess, Drew spotted the moonsilk curtains I had handpicked. It was tossed in with the trash.
He looked closer, recognizing them as the ones that had been hung in my bedroom.
He shouted at a maid, Louisa.
“Who told you to touch Sienna’s stuff?”
His yell startled Anne, who immediately burst into tears.
Jake, who had just returned home, witnessed this scene.
“Drew, what the hell’s wrong with you?”
He scooped Anne into his arms, gently wiped her tears away, and soothed her.
Louisa looked wronged.
“Miss Laura gave them to me to throw out,” she complained.
Drew’s expression turned solemn. He said nothing and stormed off toward Laura’s room.
Jake followed behind with Anne in his arms.
“It’s just a stupid curtain. So what if she tossed it? What are you planning to do to Laura? Calm down!”
Drew didn’t spare him a glance. He pushed open Laura’s door and barged inside.
Laura, who was in a wedding gown adorned with tiny shards of moonstone, admired herself in
the mirror.
Her face lit up when she saw Drew. She lifted the hem of her gown and twirled.
“Drew, don’t I look beautiful in this wedding gown?”

Drew immediately recognized it. It was the wedding gown he had chosen for me.
It didn’t really fit Laura. The seam at the lower back had split wide open.
That rip felt like it tore right through Drew’s chest.
“Why are you wearing Sienna’s wedding gown?”
Laura acted as if it were nothing. She beamed.
“Sienna’s not coming back, is she? It’s a shame to throw it away. Tell me, can I wear it three days from now?”
“Take it off, now! That dress is Sienna’s. You’re unworthy of it!”
There was rage in Drew’s eyes as he stepped forward and tried to yank the
gown off.
Laura shrieked and backed away. Her arms crossed over her chest. She gave Jake a pleading look.
“Jake, help me! He’s lost it!”
his time, Jake didn’t jump to his beloved sister’s defense.
e stared at the wedding gown and spoke in a hoarse voice.
“Laura, take it off. That gown doesn’t belong to you.”
Laura’s eyes filled with tears. She backed into a corner while clutching the gown. Her voice trembled.
“Why? Why can’t I wear it? Sienna’s already gone. Why don’t I get to wear her wedding gown and have the marking ceremony with you?”
Drew stared at her in shock.
“How can you think that way? I’ve only ever loved Sienna. She’s the only one who can be my mate!”
“What does she have that I don’t?” Laura sobbed.
“Even her parents and Jake all like me better! I’m the one who should be with you!”
Tears filled her eyes again as she turned to Jake.
“Jake, don’t you like me more as your sister? Wouldn’t it be better if I married Drew in Sienna’s place?”
Jake said nothing. He just stared at her blankly.

He never liked me, but he had never imagined Laura would try to take my mate.
“I won’t allow it,” Drew said coldly. “Take that dress off. Now.”
Laura’s tears finally fell. With a furious tug, she tore the fragile fabric apart. The wedding gown ripped in half and crumpled to the floor.
“I hate you!” she cried and ran from the room.
Drew didn’t even glance at her. He slowly knelt down and gathered the torn pieces of the wedding gown into his arms.
