Three days later, the PR team officially debunked all the negative press, providing clear evidence for every
point.
And Cara’s side was hit with a slew of scandals. Not only was she being kept, but she was also involved with Director Yang, and had even been the one to set up many of the young actresses who had been assaulted.
The evidence was clear and irrefutable. Cara was finished.
I watched the full video of the fight and felt a pang of pity for Evelyn. I never knew how she got involved, but the video showed Cara pulling her in front of me to block several of my slaps.
I was laughing and apologizing to her over text.
The tide of public opinion on social media had turned completely. The people who had cursed me were now
apologizing.
The wind of public opinion is fickle. I couldn’t bring myself to care.
But as I was scrolling, I saw a picture.
In it, I was in a thin dress, suspended by wires for a stunt. Clark was standing to the side, holding a down jacket, his expression gentle..
The picture was a little blurry. It was obviously old. I looked so young and inexperienced.

I looked at the picture and immediately remembered. It was from six months after I debuted.
It was freezing, below zero, and I had to film an outdoor scene in a thin period costume, with a wind machi- ne blowing for effect.
After a few days of filming, I got a fever. I deliriously called Clark, and he came that night.
The next day, I didn’t have any scenes, so he took care of me in the hotel all day.
I got better, but there were still a few more outdoor scenes.
I was a newcomer and didn’t want to hold up the production. Clark didn’t say anything, just stood by with the down jacket every day.
After every take, he would wrap me in his arms, cocooned between him and the jacket.
He stayed for three days, until all my outdoor scenes were finished, and then he left.
That winter was especially cold, but all I remember is his dry, warm embrace.
I smiled foolishly at the picture and quietly saved it.
