Chapter 11

+25 Bonus

After spending a huge sum of money and countless hurdles, Jameson finally managed to

get his hands on a photo of Camille. In the photo, she was wearing a white coat in

makeshift hospital. Her long hair was cut into a neat shoulderlength style. She looked clean and tidy, and her eyes were clear

He gazed greedily at the face he had been longing for day and night. Ever since she left, he had been dreaming of her every night

However, each time, he would relive the day at the cemetery when Sylvia dropped the urn that contained the ashes of Camille’s grandmother and he had chosen to stand by her

Her eyes…

Her eyes, again and again, jolted Jameson awake

In those eyes, he clearly saw that she had completely lost faith in him

Each time he woke from the nightmare, his heart felt like it was being torn apart. He regretted it deeply

Why had he not noticed it back then? If he had chosen to stand by her side instead, if he had stayed and helped her collect her grandmother’s remains, if he had accompanied her to re- bury her grandmother…

Would she have left him so decisively

The questions made Jameson feel an immense amount of regret

He hated Harry, and he hated Sylvia too, but the person he hated the most was himself. The more he hated himself, the more he wanted to make Harry’s and Sylvia’s lives miserable

Even though the Walkers had nothing left and even though Harry and his parents were trying to find other jobs, Jameson kept forcing them to fail

Many mutual friends between the two families could no longer watch this unfold

Jameson, Harry was deceived by that woman as well. Do you really have to take things this far with him?”

You’ve known each other for over ten years. Do you really want to drive him to the edge of

ruin?”

Jameson coldly replied, “Deceived? What I’ve uncovered is that he conspired with Sylvia to

lie to me.”

He sneered, They lied, saying Sylvia had cancer and was dying, but look at them now. Aren’t they both strong and healthy? They’ll live for decades without issue.”

Others tried to convince him

Jameson gestured for silence. When I brought Camille back, I already made my stance clear to all of you. It was Camille who saved me. Without her, I would’ve died in the mountains, and my body might’ve even been eaten by wild animals. Now, she has left me because of Harry and Sylvia’s joint deception. I haven’t gone mad, and you all should be grateful for that.”

His voice turned grimmer with every word. I’m going to find Camille. If she doesn’t come back, I’ll make Sylvia and Harry know what it truly means to wish they were dead.”

Jameson remained calm throughout. However, it was precisely because he was calm that

everyone understood the seriousness of his words. They all knew he meant it. A shiver ran down their spines

One friend with a shorter temper could not help but speak up, Jameson, is it really worth

going this far for a woman—

However, as soon as Jameson swept his eyes over, the man immediately fell silent, not daring to say another word

Jameson gripped his phone tightly, staring in the direction where Camille was. If you want

me to let

go of Sylvia and Harry, then pray with me that Camille will come back.”

What if she really did not come back? Would Jameson truly lose his mind

That thought flashed through everyone’s mind, but they quickly suppressed it, too afraid to entertain the possibility

Jameson had caused Sylvia to lose all hope by having her pregnancy terminated, and now, she could only beg him for mercy

Nevertheless, he knew that this was not the end

He spent a fortune to restore both the houses he and Camille had once lived in to their original state. He retrieved everything she had disposed of at any cost and placed it exactly where it had been. Every single photo was recovered

Lastly, he took care of her grandmother’s tomb

Since Camille had already moved her grandmother’s ashes to her hometown, Jameson dared not to touch the grave. Instead, he personally went there and arranged for the tomb to be refurbished, making it grand and splendid

He also found two poor families in the village and offered to pay them monthly to tend to the tomb and make sure the flowers were fresh. With the money he gave, the families were more than happy to comply and promised to handle the task properly

Jameson knelt before the tombstone, apologizing and saying many things. Finally, after a moment of thought, he took a small glass bottle and filled it with soil from the grave before leaving Camille’s hometown

While on the way back to South City, he excitedly booked a flight to the country where

Camille was
