Chapter 10
Jameson knew that if he corrected all his mistakes now, if he genuinely made up for how badly he had hurt Camille, and if he showed her his sincerity, there was still a chance
Camille might come back to him.
However, once Sylvia gave birth, that chance would be
gone
forever.
He looked Margaret in the eye and said firmly, “I don’t want the child Sylvia is carrying.
I’m still young. If I want a kid, I can have one anytime.”
Yet Margaret was not so easily convinced. “You just want to get Camille back, don’t you? You only want a child if it’s with her. But what if that’s not possible? What if she never takes you back? Then what? Will you leave the Hart family with no heir?”
That possibility that Camille might never forgive him hit Jameson hard, and his face twisted in pain.
After a long silence, he finally said, “I’ll bring her back. I’ll marry her, and we’ll have a child together.”
Margaret pressed further, sharp as ever, “And if she won’t come back? What if you do find her and she still refuses to have your child?”
He did not answer. He just repeated, “I’ll bring her back.”
Margaret understood exactly what he meant. That was why she refused to terminate Sylvia’s pregnancy.
“You don’t need to worry about anything. I’ll make sure she gives birth safely. I’ll send her
overseas with a large settlement, and she’ll never come back. I’ll raise the child myself. I promise this baby won’t interfere with your future with Camille. You just focus on winning her back.”
After a long pause, Jameson agreed.

Sylvia was overjoyed when she heard the news from Margaret over the phone. The two women thought they had finally convinced him. From their perspective, Margaret’s plan was foolproof.
Surely, once Jameson calmed down, he would realize Margaret was right. On the other hand, Sylvia was confident that once she gave birth, she could win him back. After all, she was pregnant with his child. He would not really ignore his own baby, would he?
If he wanted to come see the child, he would have to see her too, the child’s mother. The
more he visited, the more chances she would have to remind him of their past. Little by
little, she was sure his heart would soften.
She believed with all her heart that getting pregnant was the smartest thing she had ever
done.
Margaret, too, had let her guard down with Jameson.
That was also why Jameson was able to quickly track down the address of the house Margaret had arranged for Sylvia.
He left the office with his men and headed straight for the upscale apartment complex.
When Sylvia saw him arrive, she lit up with joy. “Jameson, you came! The baby’s doing
great…”
Jameson’s expression was stony. He raised his hand and said coldly, “Take her away.”
Sylvia’s smile vanished. “Jameson, what are you doing?”
She backed away in a panic and tried to run, but his men grabbed her by the arms.
She screamed, “What are you doing?! I’m pregnant with your child! Jameson, I love you! I thought about you every day while I was overseas. I came back for you! I’m carrying your baby! You’re going to be a father-”
Jameson snapped, “Shut up!”

Sylvia struggled desperately. “I’m the mother of your child! How can you treat me like this? I love you! Is it a crime to love you?!”
Jameson’s expression was gloomy. “You love me? You were the one who let me fall off that
cliff and ran off overseas the first chance you got. Then, when you ran out of money, you
came crawling back. You faked cancer to fool me. Camille left me because of you…”
He clenched his teeth. “Sylvia, you’re going to pay for everything you’ve done.”
Then, he instructed, “Take her away.”
She begged and screamed, but Jameson did not even glance at her.
When Sylvia arrived at the hospital, she finally realized how much Jameson truly hated her
and how ruthless he could be.
The moment she stepped out of the car, she threw herself to the ground. “I’m not going in! I want to talk to your parents!”
However, Jameson did not care. He simply waved his hand casually.
No matter how much she cried, fought, or screamed for help, she was still forced into the
obstetrics and gynecology department in the end and underwent an abortion.
By the time Margaret rushed to the hospital, the procedure was already over. She was furious and slapped Jameson hard across the face. “I told you I’d take full responsibility for this child! I said I’d handle Sylvia! What harm could one baby possibly do to you? Why did you have to get rid of them?!”
Jameson’s voice was hoarse. “As long as Sylvia and that baby exist, Camille will never forgive me.”
Margaret spat, “You’ve lost your mind!”
Jameson did not respond. He just stood there with a dark expression, staring at Sylvia, whose face was pale while lying in the hospital bed. “It’s not over.”

Sylvia curled up in fear. Her eyes were filled with horror. At last, she saw the truth. Jameson would never show her mercy again. Now, she had nothing left to rely on.
What could she possibly do now?
