I answered casually, “Maybe”
While speaking, Show’s hands were undisciplined, roaming over Patrick’s body, completely ignoring his warning
gaze.
Patrick could no longer bear it, and he grabbed Snow, forcing her down for a deep kiss.
Their tongues tangled.
It was clear and unmistakable.
I stood there, frozen, my body aching with a sharp pain that spread all over me.
How could people be so shameless?
I had to dig my nails into my thigh just to keep from exposing them on the spot.
They kissed each other without a care in the world, completely oblivious to me, the rightful fiance, standing nearby.
Patrick what did I do wrong?
Why are you humiliating me like this?
After a moment of clear–headedness, I managed to find my voice.
Patrick, you should rest. I’ll stay here with grandfather.”
Patrick seemed to take that as a sign of forgiveness and hurriedly took Snow away, probably feeling guilty or perhaps with more important matters to attend to.
Before leaving, Snow shot me a mocking look. I could clearly see her sneer as she spat two words at me.
Handicapped.
The pain in my palm was sharp as I released the fist I had clenched so tightly.
My nails dug into my flesh, and blood began to drip.
Once they were gone, I nearly collapsed to the ground, drained of all strength.
I looked up at my grandfather’s portrait.
His gentle smile stared back at me, just as it had when he had entrusted me to Patrick all those years ago.

“Patrick, I only have this one granddaughter. Please take care of her and protect her for the rest of her life.”
Patrick had solemnly promised, holding my hand with sincerity.
“I will, Grandpa. Don’t worry.”
And now, here he was, defiling my grandfather’s memorial with his first love for a fleeting thrill.
I couldn’t control the bile rising in my throat.
Tears mixed with vomit.
I collapsed onto the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.
They disgust me.
