Maggie is now groggy and didn’t quite hear what he was saying.

I just vaguely heard the words “going home“.

Smelling the most familiar scent in memory, I suddenly softened, like a fragile flower.

Jeffrey, I felt dizzy.

One sentence was enough to shake Jeffrey’s sanity to the core.

He took a deep breath, holding her hand which was shaking, but he refused to let go.

He didn’t know if Maggie would scold him for taking advantage of her when she woke up, but all he wanted to do at the moment was this, he wanted to take care of Maggie just like she used to take care of him before.

So he laid Maggie down on the bed and took a towel to slowly wipe off the makeup on her face.

Jeffrey had never paid attention to what her favorite makeup remover looked like, but he re- membered she had once said that going to bed without removing makeup is harmful to the

skin.

At this moment, all the words she had once chattered on and on about came flooding back into his mind.

As the makeup faded away bit by bit, a face that was all too familiar appeared in front of his

eyes. 

It was this person who was tormented every day during the three years of disappearance.

Jeffrey couldn’t help but plant another kiss, his breath brushing against Maggie’s face. He was about to kiss her lips again when he noticed her unconsciously furrow her brow.

Jeffrey sat on the edge of the bed, breathing heavily, but also keeping his distance.

Maggie subconsciously looked at her clothes, which were intact, and then breathed a sigh of relief.

After getting out of bed, she carefully pushed open the door.

I saw Jeffrey, a tall and lanky man, huddled on the sofa, frowning and appearing to sleep restlessly.

Maggie looked around for a few moments, then went back to the bedroom and grabbed a thin blanket.

She was also worried that after three years of absence, the thin blanket would not be in its original place. However, when she opened that drawer, the familiar arrangement instantly caught her eye.

Along with it came the familiar sticky notes.

Maggie was stunned for a moment.

She stared blankly at the slightly faded sticky note that had been in its place for three years, feeling a sudden pang of sadness.

After a while, she picked up the blanket and gently covered Jeffrey with it.

He didn’t wake up, and there was a faint smell of alcohol on his body.

Maggie subconsciously wanted to leave, but was instantly grabbed by his wrist.
