Chapter 18
Nora sent Jasmine a text about Martin, but they were in different time zones. She told him to
go home for now. As soon as Jasmine replied to her text, she would let him know about it.
However, he wouldn’t leave, no matter what. He stubbornly stayed at her place, sleeping on the couch and waking up at the slightest noise, hoping that she would bring him news about Jasmine.
Martin waited until the next night before Nora finally received a reply.
“Alright. I’ll meet with him.”
It was a brief reply, but it filled his heart with hope.
Jasmine was willing to see him. It was still possible for them to go back to the way things were.
Heart pounding with excitement, Martin bought the earliest flight to the country where Jasmine was. Nora pulled him aside, frowning in disapproval.
“Martin, you should rest up for a day before you go. You must’ve had trouble sleeping for days now, haven’t you? Since Jasmine agreed to meet with you, she would never stand you up.”
He shook her hand off. “I can’t wait a second longer. Ever since Jasmine left me, all I could think of was how much I missed her. All I want now is to see her in person.”
His eyes
brimmed with affection, which utterly confused Nora. She watched as he ran off and couldn’t help but sigh gently. “You should’ve thought of the consequences before you did all those horrible things, Martin.”
Martin didn’t hear anything she said. All he could think about was Jasmine. The thought of him finally meeting her filled his heart with excitement, so much so that he couldn’t even sleep after boarding the plane.
How was Jasmine’s life overseas? Did she lose some weight? Did she need more money? Having to stay in a foreign country must’ve been tough on her.
Thinking about her made his heart go soft as well. He could see no one but Jasmine in his mind.
From the very beginning, her youthful, carefully hidden infatuation had been clear as day in his eyes. But he was so obsessed with Alessa that he completely ignored her.
Yes, they had that one accidental night of intimacy, but it had never crossed his mind to think about accepting her. To his surprise, she pushed past her usual timid nature and confessed to
him.
Martin might’ve rejected Jasmine’s feelings, but he welcomed her youthful, alluring body.

Martin liked it that way. It was also a big reason why he had quietly allowed her to be with him for that long. Truth be told, he had once toyed with the idea of keeping her as his mistress
forever. But then, Alessa returned to Corvalis.
When exactly did he fall for Jasmine? Was it because he noticed her diligence, thoughtfulness, or her feelings for him?
Martin didn’t have a clear answer for it. The past four years flew by too fast. Before he even realized it, Jasmine had won his heart. But he failed to acknowledge his own feelings in time and ended up losing her.
However, he wouldn’t make the same mistake again. He had thought it through this time.
Nothing was off limits as long as she would forgive him.
He wouldn’t make her a sex partner the way he did. This time, he would make an official announcement about their relationship. He would marry her and love her to the day he died. For the rest of his life, he would do everything it took to make up for the pain she suffered.
The notion of having Jasmine back in his life brought a smile to Martin’s face. A blissful joy spread through his chest, making him ache with anticipation for the moment he would see her
again.
After eight hours in the air, Martin’s plane finally landed. Unable to contain his excitement, he rushed to the location they had agreed upon, desperate to meet the woman he loved deeply.
