Chapter 10
Chapter 10
On the wedding day, I spotted Henry in the last row of the guest section.
He was hiding in a corner, noticeably thinner, his face pale to an almost frightening degree.
When my father took my hand and walked me toward James, Henry suddenly rushed onto the stage and stood in front of me, blocking my path.
“Leila, come with me!” He reached out to grab my hand.
I immediately stepped back: “Henry, last time at the wedding you threw me out of the car, and now you’re here causing trouble again. What exactly did I do to make you hate me so much?”
He shook his head frantically, his voice trembling: “No, that’s not it. I refused to remarry Chloe and was expelled from the Sinclair family. You’re all I have left now, Leila.”
“But I don’t want you anymore.” I laughed coldly. “I’m sick of you, I’m tired of you. Please, can you just leave my
life?”
Those words hit him like a heavy blow, leaving him stunned instantly.
He staggered backward, his Adam’s apple bobbing, unable to say anything.
James slowly walked over, his knuckles cracking softly.
I gently grabbed his arm, trying to keep the wedding from being disrupted.
My father spoke calmly: “Henry, do I need to have another talk with your grandfather?”
Henry’s face instantly turned pale.
He knew that if he disturbed grandfather again this time, the consequences would be far worse than being expelled from the Sinclair family.
He looked at me sadly, his voice so low it was barely audible: “Leila, we really… can’t go back, can we?”
I didn’t answer, just gripped James’s hand tightly and walked toward the wedding stage without looking back.
Henry remained silent under the guests‘ disdainful gazes for a long while, then walked out with a vacant expression.
No one noticed Chloe secretly observing from outside the hall.
She reached the parking lot first. When Henry emerged in confusion, she drove straight into him without hesitation.
She was driving the luxury car Henry had once rushed to the airport in to pick her up.

Chapter 10
Before Henry died, she got out and collapsed weakly into his arms: “Henry, you know that when I, Chloe, want something, I’d rather die than let go.”
The news came while James and I were in the middle of an argument.
We were fighting over our honeymoon destination, getting completely worked up.
It ended with me grabbing his ears while he pulled my hair ribbon.
Until I suddenly leaned in and gave him a light kiss.
James immediately responded, kissing me back deeply:
“Leila, I’m truly under your complete control for life!”
I wrapped my arms around his waist: “Isn’t that good?”
He immediately nodded: “Very good!”
