Chapter 8
The scandal only fueled everyone’s disgust toward Harvey and his affair. Several wives o company executives began cursing him loudly and unapologetically.
Harvey had never faced such public humiliation. Clutching his face, he limped out of the venue in panic and disgrace.
Just then, a man in the crowd suddenly gasped, holding up his phone in disbelief.
“Holy shit! Helena Guerrero is getting married today!”
“Do you know how many men would kill to marry her? Gorgeous, killer body, powerful family… never thought even she would fall for someone one day!”
The name Helena exploded in Andrea’s mind like a lightning strike. She shot to her feet and grabbed the man by the collar.
“How do you know that? Tell me! How do you know?!”
Terrified, the man quickly handed her his phone and showed her the video.
In the footage, a man dressed in a luxurious wedding suit stepped out of a fancy car, gently helping a bride in an elegant tiara and veil.
With just one glance–Andrea recognized him.
Her hand trembled as she reached toward the screen, heart pounding–But before she could react further, her assistant rushed over breathlessly.
“Miss Hayes! We’ve located Mr. Crawford–he’s at a wedding venue in New York!”
The assistant hadn’t even finished the sentence when Andrea charged out like a sword drawn from its sheath, leaving only one cold command behind.
“Take care of Harvey and that child. I don’t want anything dirtying Peter’s eyes.”
Meanwhile, inside the hotel’s bridal suite, Helena fastened the last piece of jewelry onto her head -a stunning diamond tiara.
She leaned in slightly, her breath warm in my ear as she whispered, “Ready to marry me, my knight?”
Her voice–deep, husky, uniquely hers–made my heart skip a beat. And just like that, I was taken
back to our childhood.
Helena and I grew up together in the same military compound.
She had always worn that same cold expression, distant from everyone.
But for some reason, she always clung to me.
Insisting that I walked her to and from school.
Whenever I refused, she’d call out in a sing–song voice, “Knight~ Knight, come escort your princess!”
Later, I went south for university, and she left for studies abroad. We lost contact for four years.
That’s when I met Andrea and fell deeply in love with her.

From then on, I never saw Helena again. She seemed to avoid any place she might run into Andrea and me.
Until the night before my wedding with Andrea–I got a drunken phone call from her.
She was crying.
“Knight.:. don’t marry her, please. I’ve loved you for so, so many years…”
Only then did I realize the depth of her feelings.
But at that time, I didn’t know how to respond.
There was a long silence, until her voice came through again, quiet and defeated.
“I’m being ridiculous, right? Anyway, Peter… congratulations on your wedding. Be happy, okay?”
“But promise me this–if you ever get divorced, call me first. I’ll be waiting.”
Thinking of that moment, I wrapped my arms around the woman in front of me, who now looked a little nervous.
“I’ve been ready for a long time, wifey~”
Then I kissed her.
Helena seemed caught off guard by how forward I was–her whole body froze.
But as I started to pull away, she suddenly gripped my waist and deepened the kiss.
And then–a loud bang sounded.
The door to the room flew open.
A figure burst in between us, yanking us apart with force.
“Don’t you dare touch him!”
I stumbled back from the sheer impact, almost falling over.
Helena rushed to my side, checking if I was okay. Thankfully, I was unharmed.
Only then did I recognize the disheveled, wild–haired woman standing before me was Andrea.
Narrowing my eyes, I chuckled coldly. “Well, well. Miss Hayes, are you here to offer a wedding gift? Kindly proceed to the reception desk on the first floor.”
She clearly hadn’t expected me to speak like that.
For a moment–she stood there, completely stunned.
