“You really gonna go through with this?” One of Aiden’s friend Levi looked uneasy. “How are you going to explain this to Caroline?”
Aiden looked down, taking a moment before answering. “Caroline will understand. Right now,
saving Elise is what matters.”
Seeing Levi about to protest further, Aiden’s voice took on an edge.
“If you’re not coming, then get the fuck out of my way. I’ll deal with Caroline myself.”
His friends could only fell silent.
On the way to the hotel, Aiden sat in the backseat and clearly unsettled.
Caroline’s words before he left made him anxious. He couldn’t shake the feeling he’d missed something important–like she might actually leave him.
But Aiden quickly pushed those thoughts aside.
Caroline had been with him all this time. She loved him too much to ever leave.
Thinking of his friend’s concerns, guilt crept in. He pulled out his phone and texted Caroline:
[Babe, I’ll take you on vacation when I get back.]
Caroline used to respond to his texts immediately. But this time, he stared at the screen long time and no reply came.
That uneasiness he’d suppressed began to resurface.
Just as he was about to call her, the car stopped.
“Boss, we’re here.”
Aiden put his phone away. He’d explain everything to Caroline later. Right now, Elise was the priority.
The hotel staff didn’t dare stop him. “Mr. Kemnis, are you here for Ms. Versta’s wedding?”

At the word “wedding,” Aiden’s eyes darkened and his voice turning cold.
“Take me to her.”
The staff member didn’t ask further questions and quickly led Aiden to the ballroom.
Inside the bridal suite, Elise stood in her wedding dress and showed none of the distress of someone
being forced into marriage.
‘Elise, are you sure this will work?” her father Kahar Versta asked, concerned by the lack of
disruption so far.
Just then, a staff member whispered something in Elise’s ear. A triumphant expression spread
across her face.
‘Dad, don’t worry. I’ll be with Aiden very soon.”
Kahar finally exhaled and gave a relieved nod.
‘Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the bride!” The voice echoed through the hall.
Elise quickly put on a sorrowful expression, her eyes brimming with tears.
At that moment, the ballroom doors burst open and Aiden’s voice rang out.
I’d like to see anyone try to go through with this wedding!”
Kahar caught her signal, immediately grabbed her arm and raised his voice:
You’re not going anywhere! I don’t care who shows up–this wedding is happening today!”
lise struggled desperately. “Dad, please! I don’t love him. I can’t marry him!”
iden rushed forward and pulled Elise into his arms.
This arranged marriage is off. Whatever losses come from it, Kemnis Corp will cover them.”
Vithout another word, he scooped Elise up and strode toward the exit.
Aiden, thank God you came,” Elise clung to his neck, her face streaked with tears. “I was afraid I’d eally have to marry someone I don’t love.”

Seeing her like this made Aiden’s heart ache. “I’m not letting you marry anyone else, Elise. Ever.”
“If this marriage falls through, my father will never forgive me,” she whimpered.
Aiden reassured her softly, “Don’t worry. Kemnis Corp will partner with your family’s business.
We’ll cover all the losses from today.”
Elise looked up gratefully. “Aiden, thank you so much. I didn’t know what I was going to do.”
Aiden carried her to the car waiting outside the hotel.
“I’ll take you home first. I’ll handle everything else later.”
Elise pretended to remember something, feigning concern.
“Wait–won’t Caroline be upset about you crashing a wedding like this? It’s all my fault… she’s pregnant! Maybe I should go back with you and help explain.”
Aiden recalled Caroline’s earlier questions about Elise. He worried she might misunderstand, “No
need. You’ve had a rough day–take a break. Caroline isn’t petty. She’ll understand.”
With Aiden being so dismissive, Elise couldn’t push further.
Though she really would have loved to see Caroline’s face when she found out Aiden had crashed a wedding for her.
After dropping Elise off, Aiden made a special stop at Caroline’s favorite bakery and bought a small
cake.
“Caroline, how’s the little one today? I brought your favorite cake. But don’t eat too much, okay? Just
a couple bites…”
Aiden called out as soon as he opened the front door, but received no response.
