Chapter 25
“Elise Versta, you have a visitor.”
After just a few days in detention, Elise had lost a significant amount of weight. Her face and body
were covered in bruises.
She stood up numbly and followed the guard to the visiting area.
When she saw Aiden, she froze in terror and grabbed the guard’s arm.
“Please, I don’t want to see him. Take me back to my cell.”
The guard shook her off. “You signed the settlement agreement. I’ll process the paperwork and you
can take her with you, sir.”
Aiden nodded.
Hearing the guard’s words, Elise thought Aiden had forgiven her. She immediately clutched his jacket.
“Aiden, I knew you’d come for me.”
“Get me out of here, quick. I can’t stand another day in this place.”
As a pampered heiress, Elise had never experienced such hardship.
During her time in detention, she’s unable to adapt and had been “taught lessons” by both guards
and inmates, leaving her body covered in injuries.
Aiden looked at her with ice–cold eyes. “Of course I won’t let you stay here. I’m taking you out today.”
His tone was gentle. Elise grabbed his arm, terrified he might leave her behind.
“Aiden, you’re the best to me. I love you so much.”
At this point, Elise just wanted to escape this hellhole.
As for Aiden destroying her family’s business and driving her father to suicide–she was willing to
overlook all of it.

As long as Aiden treated her well.
Aiden led her to his car.
“Where are we going?” Elise asked nervously, glancing out the window as the scenery got more and more desolate.
Aiden maintained his gentle tone. “Relax. Just taking you to a doctor. Look how badly they beat you in there–you’re covered in bruises. It breaks my heart.”
If Elise had looked carefully at Aiden’s eyes, she would have seen the coldness behind his words.
But she was so overjoyed at escaping detention that she noticed nothing.
“Aiden, you’re so good to me.”
Even now, all she could think was: Caroline, you lost after all. Aiden will always be mine.
The car stopped and Aiden led her out.
She looked up at the sign above the entrance: “State Psychiatric Hospital.”
Realizing something was wrong, Elise tried to run. But Aiden gripped her wrist with iron strength.
Elise still clinged to hope and pleaded, “Aiden, you must have brought me to the wrong place. This is
scary–let’s go!”
Aiden dropped his act, his eyes turning vicious.
“This is exactly where I meant to bring you. Jail’s too soft. I was afraid you’d forget to atone for your
sins. Here is more suitable.”
Seeing doctors and nurses approaching, Elise desperately bit and clawed at Aiden’s hand, trying to
break free.
But he showed no sign of pain, maintaining his grip on her.
“Aiden, I was wrong! I’ll go back to jail, please–I’ll go back!”
As medical staff dragged her inside, she struggled on the ground and tried to grab Aiden’s leg.
He kicked her hand away and turned to the staff.

“Make sure she gets thorough treatment.”
Elise fought desperately. She knew that once inside this place, she’d never get out.
The staff dragged her across the floor and inside.
“No! Aiden, I was wrong!”
I don’t belong here–I’m not crazy!”
Aiden stood by coldly and watched as they pulled her in.
He pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and calmly wiped where she had touched him, then dropped it on the ground before driving away.
Elise stared at the heavy metal doors as they slammed shut behind her. Her body stopped fighting.
There was no point now.
This time, she knew–She’d never out.
