Chapter 14
April had dragged my name to the mud, painting me as a wicked person who stole her pregnant sister’s husband. I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down my face at that thought.
“Hey, hey, amore.” Killian murmured, sitting down beside me on the bed, “Don’t cry, we will handle it, okay?” he said softly, using his thumb to wipe my tears away.
My heart melted in my chest at the soft look in his eyes.
“Don’t worry, we’ll make her regret it. That’s why we’re getting married, isn’t it? To teach them both a lesson.” He said, chuckling softly.
My heart ached at the reminder that we were a fake couple.
He tossed the phone back on the bed and smirked. “Are you ready?”
I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand, and I crossed my arms. “What is the plan?”
His smirk widened, and his eyes glinted with mischief. “Watch and see.”
Killian pulled out his own phone and dialed a number. “Enzo, get in touch with our PR team. I want a press release ready in the next hour. No, let’s change it up. We’ll do a live interview instead. Make sure every major network is ready to broadcast it.”
I stared at him in shock. “Are you serious?”
Killian placed his phone back in his pocket, still smirking “Of course I am. April wants to drag your name through the mud? Let’s show her who she’s dealing with.”

My heart pounded. I had never spoken in front of so many people before. What if I messed up?
Killian sat beside me, looking composed and calm in his sleek black suit. I kept trying not to let my nervousness show.
He glanced at me with a reassuring smile. “Relax, amore. You’re here to tell the truth.”
I inhaled deeply and nodded.
When it was time, the interviewer, Isabella, started asking her questions.
“June, let’s get straight to it. Your sister, April Winslow, has accused you of stealing her husband, claiming that you and Killian were having an affair long before their divorce. What do you have to say to that?”
I straightened up, raising my chin as I replied. “That is a complete and utter lie.” My voice was steady and firm. “I was never involved with Killian while he was married to my sister. In fact, before April’s affair with Richard was exposed, Killian and I barely even knew each other.”
Isabella nodded. “You’re referring to the leaked photos of April Winslow and Richard Thorne in a hotel room together?”
“Yes,” I said firmly. “And those photos were not photoshopped, no matter how much April and Richard try to deny.”
Isabella leaned forward slightly. “Do you have proof?”
I smiled bitterly. “Yes. I saw them with my own eyes.”

Isabella blinked in surprise. “You mean… you caught them in the act?”
I nodded, blinking away the tears that welled up in my eyes. “Two weeks ago, I walked into my home–the home I shared with my ex–husband–and found Richard in bed with April. Their clothes were on the floor, and they were all over each other.”
Gasps echoed in the background from the crew, I could see the comments section of the livestream blowing up.
“I took pictures that day, and I left the house to get the divorce papers.” I added. “Richard and April have been having an affair for months. My own sister betrayed me, and when they got caught, they tried to shift the blame to me. April is not the victim–she is the liar.”
Isabella looked surprised. “She slandered your name, you can press charges.”
Killian chuckled, finally speaking. “There are so many things we can press charges for, trust me,
that is the least on our list.”
The interview raised an eyebrow curiously. “Are you saying that they were involved in worse things than slander?”
Killian nodded, his eyes darkening. “Yes. I’m sure everyone heard about the attack on our wedding day.”
Isabella nodded.
“That attack was led by Richard Thorne, and he shot June. She just recovered.” He snarled, clenching his fists with barely restrained anger.
Everyone present gasped in horror.
Killian smirked darkly. “That’s not even the worst part, but don’t worry, everything will be released to the press shortly after this interview.”
Isabella pouted slightly. “Awww, can’t you tell us one more thing?” She pleaded.
Killian glanced at me, and I nodded.
He smirked, “Well, I guess we can tell you one more thing, June?”
I turned to the camera, “We all know that April Winslow is pregnant, but the baby?” I paused dramatically, “It’s not Killian’s. It’s Richard’s.”
A stunned silence filled the room. I could see the comment section blowing up with different
reactions.
“WHAT?!”
“No way, is she serious?!”
“April is a whore!”
“How do we even believe this?”
Isabella’s eyes were wide with shock. “That… that’s serious, June. Do you have evidence?”
Killian’s smirk deepened. “Of course, we have access to April’s medical records.”
Isabella gaped in shock. “So, she really lied to everyone.”
I nodded with a bitter smile. “She claimed that I stole her husband, when she was the one sleeping with mine.”
