When Eloise caught that hint of lingering affection in Thaddeus’s eyes as he looked at me, I could see
her struggling not to lose it completely.
I turned to leave, but she stepped in front of me. “Wait, where are you going? The reception’s not
even over.”
Dad backed her up immediately. “Vivienne, this is your sister’s big day. You can’t just bail–what
would people think?”
She grabbed my wrist, and during our tussle, suddenly gave me a hard shove toward the hotel pool.
I tried to steady myself, but my legs gave out–someone had spiked my drink.
I hit the water with a loud splash.
Everyone started freaking out, but my parents and my “devoted” fiancé just stood there watching me struggle, like they couldn’t care less.
After I’d nearly drowned, hotel security finally bothered to fish me out.
Eloise had some guys drag me to a private suite. My whole body started feeling weird–I couldn’t
catch my breath, and everything felt hot and wrong.
I tried to bolt, but these creepy guys blocked the door.
They kept grabbing at me. I fought like hell, but the drugs made me weak and useless.
That’s when Eloise showed up in the doorway, still in her perfect white gown.
“Sorry, sis, but you brought this on yourself. Should’ve stayed wherever you were.”
“Thaddeus promised me that once he got your shares, you’d be gone. But he’s still hung up on you,
isn’t he?”
“Well, after tonight, he’ll be disgusted enough to forget you ever existed.”
So she was the one who drugged me. I was crying, begging her to stop this.

“Ellie, please–I’ll disappear, I swear. You can have everything. Mom, Dad, Thaddeus–just please
don’t do this.”
She didn’t even blink. Worse, she pulled out her phone and started recording everything, probably planning to blackmail me later.
When those animals were finally done with me, she actually brought the wedding guests over to
“discover” what happened.
Everyone was pointing and whispering, calling me a slut and worse.
Right before I blacked out, I heard Thaddeus’s voice, cold and disgusted.
“Wow. And here I thought she was so innocent. Turns out she’s just another cheap whore.”
The irony?
He had no clue I was already pregnant with his baby.
