Chapter 6
All their friends crowded around us, talking over each other. “Dylan, this mistress has some serious balls showing up here. You should slap her too–show Mia you’ve got her back.”
Dylan didn’t move.
But Mia was staring at him expectantly.
“Just… go,” Dylan said to me.
I was shaking with rage. “Why should I leave? And what am I supposed to be–the other woman? Tell me, Dylan. Am
I the other woman?”
Someone in the crowd spat at me again. “Dylan’s got a wife and kid. What else would you be?”
I stared Dylan down. “Am I the other woman?”
“No,” he said quietly.
The crowd went crazy, all of them defending Mia.
Dylan addressed the room. “You guys have it all wrong. She and I are just… friends. She’s not the other woman. I barely know her.”
I actually laughed at the insanity of it all. “Barely know me? Dylan, if we barely know each other, why are you having your wedding in my house?”
Someone kicked me. “What do you mean your house? This is obviously Dylan and Mia’s place.”
“Delusional gold–digger thinks she owns the place.”
“Someone should drag her through the streets.”
Everyone was just going off on me.
I pulled out my phone and called 911.
But Dylan snatched my phone away and hung up.
“Emma, can you just not do this today? After today, you can throw whatever tantrum you want.”
I was about to argue when I heard a familiar voice. “Emma, sweetie, listen to me. Making a scene today won’t help anyone.”
I turned around and couldn’t believe my eyes.

Chapter 6
It was Dylan’s mom.
She used to treat me like her own daughter–always asking how I was doing, telling Dylan he better not hurt me or she’d have his head.
And now here she was, at Dylan and Mia’s wedding.
She dragged me into the bathroom and locked the door.
“Emma, honey, I’ll make sure you get what’s fair here.”
“Dylan had this child before he even met you, so it’s not like he cheated.”
“Just let him marry Mia and then divorce her later. A divorced dad sounds better than a guy with a bastard kid, right?”
I couldn’t help but laugh. “Why does everyone assume I have to marry Dylan?”
“Who he marries, whether he has kids–none of my business.”
“But this is my house, and I want him gone. Plus, I want compensation for all the damage they caused today.”
Dylan’s mom looked stunned.
