The old woman and the kid were constantly fighting and hitting each other. Tyler sent his “grandma” to the hospital multiple times.
One night, Dylan was digging through a dumpster when he saw a woman get out of an expensive car.
She was all dressed up and looking glamorous. It was Mia.
She’d become some rich guy’s mistress.
Dylan went completely insane, screaming, “You ruined my life! You destroyed everything!”
He tackled her and started slamming her head against the pavement until she stopped breathing.

Dylan’s crazy mom.
During the struggle, their apartment caught fire.

I saw the news about the fire and turned off the TV.
Dylan felt like such a distant memory now.
Even though it had only been a few months, it felt like a whole other lifetime.
