Chapter 4

Back in the hospital room, I called Alexander, but no one answered. I sent him a message telling him that Greg was arranging an abortion for me and forwarded him the surgical order.
Whether these two children could be saved depended entirely on Alexander.
Alexander was a powerful figure in American high society, decisive in his actions, never one to fool around with women. At nearly thirty, he still had no children. Rumors said he’d been framed by business rivals and had lost interest in women.
But when he was with me, he was passionate as fire–I got pregnant after just three days together.
These two children were my only hope of changing my fate. However, until three days before the surgery, I hadn’t received any word from Alexander.
Greg was afraid I’d run away, so he stationed guards outside my hospital room.
Seeing this situation, I panicked. I thought, “Alexander, are you going back on your word? Why haven’t you shown up yet?”
As the surgery approached, I grew increasingly nervous, Just then, doctors and nurses came in, wheeling equipment to examine me.

finish the surgery, you can go back and take care of her.”
Hearing this, I looked up at him. Emily beside him deliberately said, “Isabella, thank you!”
“Don’t thank me. You seduced my husband fair and square no need to thank me. Greg, Emily, you two are absolutely shameless!”
I slapped Greg across the face. Emily screamed and lunged at me. I pointed at her and said, “I can tear your clothes off and hurt your child too!”
She immediately got scared and hid behind Greg. Greg didn’t scold me, just said, “Stop making a scene. I’ll stay with you for the surgery.”
“Honey, my stomach hurts!”
Emily suddenly clutched Greg in pain. Greg picked her up and said, “I’ll take her to see a doctor first.”
He left directly. At that moment, the doctors and nurses in the room bowed to me and said, “Miss, Mr. Dixon has asked us to escort you out immediately!”
Alexander had come!
They wheeled me out in a wheelchair. Emily and Greg saw me being wheeled away by medical staff and didn’t suspect anything, just letting me go like that.

I got straight into the car, and seeing Alexander, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He held me and said, “Sorry, I was abroad these past two days with poor signal. I rushed back as soon as I got your message. Let’s have our wedding first, then make our relationship public.”
I was stunned: “But Greg and I aren’t divorced yet…”
Alexander said, “You and he only had an engagement party— you never had an actual wedding ceremony.”
Hearing him say this, I suddenly understood.
When Greg and I got engaged, Emily cried and refused to agree. She said her husband had just died and wouldn’t let us get married right away.
I thought she was being unreasonable, but Greg actually agreed and asked me to be understanding of Emily’s feelings.
He completely ignored my feelings.
Back then, I loved him deeply and silently endured all these grievances.
But my tolerance only made Emily worse.
On our engagement day, Emily actually wore the exact same white dress as me. All the guests felt very awkward.
Emily brazenly said that she and her late husband never had
