Chapter 7
I suddenly remembered a fitness test class from high school when Lola and I were in the same group.
Just as I was about to speed up and pass her, she suddenly tripped and fell right in front of me, scraping a large patch of skin off her knee.
But she told Alan, “Evelyn didn’t trip me on purpose. I’m fine,
Alan.”
Only a fool like Alan would fall for her little act.
He said righteously, “Evelyn, I really don’t want to say much more. Just apologize to her and we’ll call it even.”
I couldn’t even be bothered to explain. I slowly walked over to where she was.
She thought I was going to apologize, keeping her head down with a smile she could barely suppress as she said, “Actually, you don’t have to…”
But I just gave her a clean, sharp slap across the face. The crowd around us immediately burst into laughter.
I said, “Is this slap enough of an apology?”
I hit her so hard it left her completely stunned.

A few seconds later, her eyes glared at me with pure venom, but she couldn’t lash out with Alan present.
“Evelyn, you’ve really gone too far!”
That slap also shattered Alan’s heart.
She said, “Evelyn, you’re completely unreasonable. This is bullying!”
But after that, just as she wanted, Alan never spoke to me again and never came to my house anymore.
