My Arranged 4

My Arranged 4

Chapter 4

Liam and I returned home.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the earlier spectacle, I made no effort to hide my current cheerful mood, humming a little tune as I walked into the room.

The French-style bedroom was decorated even more festively and warmly than usual.

The door suddenly closed behind me.

Liam was removing his suit jacket, his broad, solid back outlined beneath his white dress shirt. “Are you tired?”

I said, “Not really, I’m pretty excited.”

He suddenly chuckled softly, raising his hand to loosen his tie.

“Is that so? I’m excited too.”

There was something inexplicably alluring about his demeanor, making me instinctively swallow hard.

Why did I get the feeling we were excited for completely different reasons?

Being a first-time bride with no experience, I felt nervous inside, pondering what I should do while hesitating whether to chat with him about our college days.

Just as I was thinking, my waist suddenly tightened—Liam pulled me into his embrace from behind.

He said, “Evelyn, today you gave too much time to people and things that don’t matter. Now, it’s my turn.”

His breath brushed against my ear, light as a feather, and my heartbeat quickened accordingly.

I was about to turn around to speak when my lips were captured in a gentle yet commanding kiss.

The kiss deepened gradually, and after a long moment, he asked in a low voice, “Shall we take a shower?”

“Okay.” I walked toward the walk-in closet to get my pajamas with forced composure, only to discover that Liam had followed me into the bathroom.

I said awkwardly, “Then you go first.”

Before I could turn around, he caught my wrist and pulled me

back.

With the sound of the bathroom door closing, he kissed me once

again.

He looked down into my eyes and said softly, “Evelyn, we’re married now.”

Chapter 4

In my mind flashed the image of him opposing me in college debate competitions-sharp arguments, cutting words, yet that face remained coolly restrained.

Was he pretending back then, or had he changed?

What answered me was a long night.
