Chapter 13
As for news about Lola, I honestly couldn’t care less. My time is far too precious to waste on her.
I eventually learned about her situation through social media
news.
Lola was having a candlelit dinner with a married man at a restaurant when his wife showed up and flipped their table on the spot. The woman screamed at Lola, calling her a homewrecker, and threw red wine all over her.
This dramatic scene was captured by other diners and quickly went viral online.
When Alan found out about this incident, he had a huge fight with her. The two of them argued publicly on the street, airing each other’s dirty laundry, which was also filmed by passersby and posted online.
Tech-savvy netizens even edited together clips from Alan’s previous family recognition video.
In the footage, one moment Lola was swearing she loved Alan for who he was, claiming his family background had nothing to do with her feelings. The next moment, she was pointing at his nose and calling him a country bumpkin who couldn’t even find a job, saying she never would have gotten close to him if she hadn’t thought he was a rich kid.
One second, Alan was promising to give Lola a glamorous wedding. The next, he was demanding to know how much money she’d spent and forcing her to pay it all back.
Online commenters summed it up perfectly: one’s an idiot, the other’s a gold-digger-they might as well stay together forever.
Alan brought this on himself, and it was only a matter of time before Lola got her comeuppance.
Of course, I only knew about all this because friends sent me the links.
I was busy honeymooning with Liam, after all.
