Chapter 16
“Mr. Harris, we can’t find any trace of your wife… She’s completely erased her identity.”
“If I were her, I’d fly far away and never come back too.”
Liam’s eyes hardened as he laughed bitterly at himself.
After all, he had treated her that way, demanding she be understanding and obedient…
Since realizing Eliza had truly left him, his heart felt like someone had carved out a piece of it–bleeding, barely able to keep beating.
“…Continue.” The pain in his heart had numbed him. All he could do now was try to find her and beg for forgiveness.
“Everything you asked me to investigate has been confirmed. All videos are on this drive.”
His assistant held out a small flash drive, gleaming coldly in his palm.
With trembling fingers, Liam took it and plugged it into his computer.
He’d already suspected–looking back, Eliza was never someone who could hurt others.
But he needed to see it all. This was his punishment.
Liam watched everything, fighting through waves of regret and anger, not skipping a second.
So while Maya had been in his arms listening to his stories, his wife had been downstairs, burning with fever, knocking over a glass, her hands bleeding.
So when he’d focused only on Maya at the riding grounds, Eliza had been watching; when he’d left to
take a call, she’d been provoked by Maya, and when the horses collided and she fell to the ground, he hadn’t even looked back at her–just carried Maya away while the woman he’d once cherished
was trampled by horses, nearly losing her life!
So the soup truly had been fine–Maya had added abortion drugs herself, planning to miscarry and frame Eliza; and he had simply believed Maya, abandoning his wife in a blizzard to “punish” her, leaving her buried in an avalanche…

Chapter 16
“What have I done…” Liam clutched his head in agony. “Liza, how could I do this to you…”
“Eliza, if I ever betray you, let me…”
“Never find happiness again, for all eternity…”
“Liza… losing you means I’ve already lost all happiness.”
Tears fell coldly on the back of his hand as he whispered.
“Help me!” A piercing scream echoed through the mansion, interrupting Liam’s memories.
“Maya, you must pay for everything you’ve done.”
He frowned at the bloody, filthy woman.
“Liam… I’ll never do it again, I swear…” Maya sobbed, still trying to grasp at him like a lifeline.
“You love me, don’t you? Please, spare me. I’ll never appear before you or Eliza again…”
Liam grabbed her throat, his rage turning to bitter laughter. “Love you?”
His heart ached. Yes, from Eliza’s perspective, his actions must have seemed…
And truthfully, his heart had wavered for Maya, if only for a moment.
“Maya, did you trick me into signing the divorce papers?”
“It was Eliza who asked me to help! She made me do it!”
Maya screamed, blood gushing with each movement. With a wet thud, a bloody mass fell to the floor.
“Liam! That’s our baby!” Maya’s expression turned vacant, her face deathly pale. Suddenly manic, she grabbed the fetus, trying to push it back inside.
“Unbelievable! Still lying to the Harris family?” his grandmother snapped, her voice shaking with rage. “Get her out of my sight–throw her in the water! And make sure the doctor watches. I want her
to suffer, not die!”
“Hahahahaha!”
Maya clutched the bloody mass and began laughing hysterically.

Chapter 16
“Liam Harris! Mrs. Harris! If you hadn’t coddled me–if you hadn’t pushed Eliza away with your coldness–she never would’ve left! This is on you!”
“Now you blame everything on me… hahaha!”
Her mad laughter continued as the guards dragged her away, leaving two grotesque trails of blood.
“Liam, will Eliza really never come back?” His grandmother pressed something into his hand. The cold touch brought him back to reality.
Looking down, he saw Eliza’s diamond bracelet–the one she’d shattered. Someone had collected
every piece and rejoined them with gold thread, restoring its original shape.
“I’ve been asking around. It seems Eliza might be living in Los Angeles…”
“Bring her back… I was wrong. I’ll apologize to her myself.”
Liam looked at her–his once–proud grandmother suddenly seemed to have aged years.
“I will, Grandma.”
He clutched the cold bracelet. “I’ll bring Eliza home.”
