Chapter 8
When Charlie returned to the hospital, he discovered that Victoria was gone.
From a nurse, he learned that she had already been discharged. He quickly sent a message: [Victoria, where are you?]
Half an hour passed with no reply.
Growing anxious, he tried to locate her through their mind link-but for some reason, he couldn’t sense a single trace of
her presence.
Frustration began to gnaw at him, but beneath it was a deeper anxiety. He left the hospital and rushed back to the pack
house.
But the house was completely empty.
Not a single hint of her scent remained.
He searched nearly every corner of the pack, yet still couldn’t find any trace of her.
She was still carrying his pup. If she ran into rogues like she had before… he couldn’t even bear to imagine the
consequences.
Just then, the elder werewolf handed him a document.
“Alpha, Luna has already severed the mate bond with you.”
Charlie froze in disbelief.
“That’s impossible! I never agreed to that!”
The elder wolf replied calmly, “But your signature is on the bond dissolution agreement. It’s already in effect. Victoria is no
longer your Luna.”
Charlie stared at the document. Sure enough, his signature was right there. He couldn’t even remember when he had
signed it.
He shook his head again and again.
“Victoria loved me. She’s still pregnant with my pup. Why would she end our mate bond? I have to go talk to her!”
Just then, the Beta passed by and said, “Alpha… Luna was just seen leaving with a suitcase.”
A strange, almost deranged laugh escaped Charlie’s lips. “She must be angry because I didn’t spend last night with her.
She’s just hiding somewhere, that’s all. She didn’t really leave!”
“Tomorrow is our tenth mating ceremony anniversary. She’ll definitely show up!”
The next day, the tenth anniversary of Charlie and Victoria’s mating ceremony was held at Moonstone Feast Hall.
Perhaps out of guilt, Charlie had gone all out for the event. The banquet was lavish, with many prominent figures from the pack invited to attend.
News outlets reported on the grand celebration, calling it a once-in-a-generation spectacle.
One young wolf exclaimed, “Alpha’s loyalty to Luna is as legendary as the bond he shares with Miss Selena!”

Another added, “I heard Miss Selena is also holding a banquet at Moonstone Feast Hall today-to celebrate her winning first place in the painting competition!”
“What an incredible day! To witness the world’s two most loyal mates-this is history!”
Word of the dual celebrations spread quickly. More and more guests arrived, and even some rogue wolves disguised
themselves as attendees just to get inside.
Charlie greeted the guests with a polite smile, but behind it, he was anxiously waiting for Victoria to appear.
Suddenly, Selena entered the hall in a shimmering moonlight veil gown, drawing every gaze in the room.
“Did Miss Selena walk into the wrong venue?” someone whispered.
“Why would she be here?”
“What’s really going on between her and Alpha? She looks so confident, like this is exactly where she belongs.”
The guests murmured in confusion.
Then, to everyone’s astonishment, Selena stepped forward, looped her arm around Charlie’s, and announced proudly,
“Thank you all for attending the celebration Charlie prepared for me.”
Gasps rippled through the crowd. It was as if a tightly guarded secret had just been exposed.
Charlie quickly shook off her arm and explained, “There’s been a misunderstanding. This banquet is for my Luna, Victoria.
Miss Selena is just a friend.”
Selena didn’t argue. She simply pouted, clearly displeased.
But the guests remained skeptical. After all, none of them had ever seen the man who had spent thirty million dollars to
purchase Selena’s first night.
The rumors had long hinted that Charlie was the one behind it.
Panic rose in Charlie’s chest. He pulled out his phone and called his Beta.
“Where is my Luna?!”
A short while later, the Beta arrived-but Victoria wasn’t with him.
“Alpha,” he said, “Luna only asked me to deliver this gift to you.”
