Chapter 7

Charlie had just picked Selena up from the art competition venue.

Selena slipped effortlessly into the passenger seat. As soon as she noticed the two little werewolf plushies on the dashboard-one in a suit labeled Charlie, and the other in a wedding dress labeled Victoria.

With a sneer, she grabbed the second doll and tossed it straight out the window.

“Victoria really is such a childish and boring woman. No wonder you said she’s like a dead fish in bed. Can’t even satisfy

you.”

For the first time, Charlie showed a hint of disapproval.

“Don’t talk about Victoria like that. She just loved me too much… And besides, that artwork of yours-you stole it from

her.”

Selena’s eyes welled up with fake tears. She looked wounded as she murmured, “It’s my fault. I’ll go apologize to Victoria.”

Charlie tried to soothe her, though a strange unease crept into his heart.

“Alright, I was just joking. Of course she can’t compare to you.”

“You, in bed, are so much more…”

His voice trailed off, growing hoarse with desire.

Because by then, Selena had already climbed onto his lap, seducing him with every movement.

Charlie had no choice but to pull the car over. He wrapped his arms around her and gave in to her temptations.

The car rocked violently in the wind.

Not far away, beneath a tree, Alexander leaned lazily against the trunk, casually watching the scene unfold like a

performance worth savoring.

Then he took out his phone, recorded a video, and sent it to a certain number:

[He betrayed you. I’d like to punish him for you.]

At that moment, Victoria stood in the Lunar Crest Council Hall, handing a document to the elder wolf: “I, Victoria Carter,

reject my mate Charlie Smith, the Alpha of the Lunar Crest Pack.”

The elder wolf looked momentarily stunned, but quickly regained his composure.

“Luna, does the Alpha know about this?”

“Of course. That’s his signature on the papers. And I’m sure you haven’t forgotten the scent of his aura.”

The elder wolf approved the request. After all, it was clear the Alpha had failed to treat his Luna with the respect and care she deserved.

He believed the Moon Goddess herself would support this decision.

As Victoria stepped out of the council hall, a wind swept down from the north, carrying the crisp, cool scent of Frostwhisper Grass-a rare plant that only bloomed when an old bond died.

She took off the Bloodbond ring from her finger and flung it into the distance.

As the ring vanished from sight, the burning runes that had once scorched her skin slowly cooled and disintegrated into

fine silver ash.

She called the werewolf hospital.

“You can send out the package now.”

Just as she hung up, a text message arrived-from an unfamiliar number. It was a sickening video.

But at this point, it didn’t even make her angry anymore.

She replied: [Alpha Charlie and I no longer have any connection. I’m not his Luna anymore. His betrayal means nothing to

me now.]

[You severed your mate bond?]

Victoria had just realized who the number belonged to-Alexander.

But now, in her newfound peace, she didn’t feel afraid of him anymore.

[Isn’t your pack supposed to be primitive? You guys use cell phones?]

Alexander didn’t want to admit that he had only just learned how to use one.

[Are you leaving?]

Victoria didn’t reply.

She returned to the house to pack her things, only to discover that hardly anything in it truly belonged to her.

Most of what she placed in the suitcase were her paintings.

She grabbed her documents and without hesitation, walked out of the den she had lived in for ten years-heading straight for the airport.
