Chapter 224
Chapter 224
While Valerie was lost in thought, Aiden gently drew her into his embrace and whispered in her ear, “Trust me. Every word I said is true.
A sharp, throbbing pain shot through Aiden’s head. He closed his eyes and buried his face in the crook of Valerie’s neck, his breathing growing ragged. His brows knitted tightly together, and his complexion turned pale.
Valerie immediately sensed something was
She knew that look all too well. She turned to look at Aiden and instantly caught sight of his tightly furrowed brows.
His headache was acting up again.
A faint ache tightened Valerie’s chest. She raised her hands to the sides of his head, gently massaging his temples.
Aiden’s tightly furrowed brows eased a little. He opened his eyes and looked at Valerie.
She deliberately avoided his gaze, her face an impassive mask of indifference.
But that thorn lodged in Aiden’s heart seemed to loosen a little. He closed his eyes, savoring the rare tenderness of the woman in his arms.
Her hands moved with practiced ease.
With practiced precision, her fingers found every pressure point that could bring him relief, working their magic to soothe the excruciating pain. Before he knew it, Aiden had drifted off to sleep in her arms.
Valerie gazed at him, her fingers gradually lightening their pressure on his temples. With mixed emotions swirling in her chest, she studied his peaceful sleeping face. Before she knew it, she too had drifted off to sleep.
Late at night, Kelly swiped her key card and pushed open the door, only to freeze at the sight of Aiden and Valerie fast asleep in each other’s arms. Stunned, she immediately backed out.
Kelly’s heart skipped a beat as she backed away. She thought, ‘Damn it! Those two are all lovey–dovey, now where the hell am I supposed to sleep
tonight?‘
Fuming, Kelly grabbed her phone and called Lennox.
Back in their home country, it was 7 a.m.
Lennox kept his phone on 24/7, always ready to answer his boss’s call
at
any moment.
Kelly’s call jolted him awake. He frowned, still half–asleep.
He glanced at the caller ID. Years of professional training kicked in, and he quickly composed himself before answering in a calm, steady voice, “Hello,
this is Lennox.”
Kelly was Aiden’s sister, so Lennox had always maintained a respectful yet distant attitude toward her.
Kelly said, “Lennox, your boss and his wife have taken over my room! Now I’m practically homeless on the streets of Gharn. What am I supposed to do?”
Lennox quickly processed the information and asked, “Did you check in with your passport?”
“Yes!”
“Head to Mr. Walker’s suite,” Lennox said matter–of–factly, “The presidential suite has three bedrooms. Other than the one for the assistant, there’s still an empty room.”
“Alright, send me the key card.”

“One moment,” Lennox replied.
True to his reputation as Aiden’s right–hand man, Lennox handled everything with lightning speed.
Kelly sat idly in the hotel lobby, utterly bored, sipping her drink as she glanced at her watch.
She thought, ‘Good, it’s not even 8 a.m. back home yet.
‘What a reliable guy!‘
After getting the key card, Kelly went straight to the presidential suite. But the moment she opened the door, her jaw dropped at the sight inside.
The floor was strewn with women’s clothes, dresses, bras, panties, and all sorts of intimate apparel scattered haphazardly.
Kelly thought, ‘My eyes are burning, this is just too much!‘
She took a step back, only to hear the barely conscious woman on the floor murmur in a sultry voice, “Aiden…”
“What the hell!” Kelly couldn’t hold back her shock and anger. “Who the hell are you?”
Seeing red, Kelly grabbed the coffee pot, filled it with cold water, and dumped the entire contents onto the woman’s face.
The icy water jolted Sydney awake. A strange, aching soreness wracked her entire body, making her gasp and instinctively cover herself.
The way she was sprawled on the floor was so indecent that Kelly hadn’t bothered to look closely. Now, seeing who it was, her eyes widened in shock. “You?”
Sydney was the apple of Denton’s eye, the darling of the Skinner family, and the kind of perfect child every parent compared their own to. Even the Walker family couldn’t stop praising her, and on several occasions, Waylon even urged Aiden to pursue her.
Sydney was utterly shocked to see Kelly in a place like this. Covering herself, she shrieked, “What are you doing here? Where’s Aiden? Where is he?”
Kelly let out a bitter laugh. “Who the hell do you think you are, calling my brother by his name? You… what the hell is going on here?” she snapped.
Only then did Sydney realize she was sprawled out on the floor.
A thrill of triumph surged through Sydney. She thought, ‘I did it!‘
But soon, a pang of bitterness hit her as she thought, ‘How could he not even help me to bed? No manners at all!‘
Still, she had succeeded.
Sydney hugged herself and looked at Kelly with a knowing smile. “Aiden and I…”
Stunned, Kelly shot back, “No way!”
Sydney casually grabbed some clothes from the floor, shot Kelly a smug look, and said, “Believe it or not, that orphan Valerie is nowhere near good enough for your brother. Sooner or later, I’ll be the one by his side instead.”
Kelly scoffed, “Dream on! My brother’s been with his wife this whole time. How shameless can you be!”
“Kelly!” Sydney snapped, her face darkening.
“Am I wrong? I’ll never accept you. Back then, you were already sleeping around. Any man who marries you might as well wear a neon sign saying ‘cuckold‘! Don’t even dream about it!”
Sydney wasn’t the least bit ashamed. In fact, she seemed to take pride in it. With a smirk, she said, “Now, all I want is Aiden. You can leave. I’m going to
take a shower.”

Fuming with rage, Kelly stomped her foot and spat contemptuously at Sydney’s retreating back.
