Micah replied in a heartbeat, sending a voice message: “Ivy, don’t say that. As long as you’re doing well, that’s all the comfort I need.” At that moment, Micah felt like a paragon of selflessness, completely oblivious to the fact he was being played for a fool.
“…” Jamison’s usually stern face looked almost pained.
After years as a doctor, he’d seen every shade of human nature and all kinds of personalities. But he’d never met a girl with the face of an angel who could pull off something so brazenly shameless.
The more Jamison looked at Ivy, the deeper his disdain grew. He couldn’t help but feel furious with his nephew, whose sense of right and wrong seemed just as warped.
Ivy, on the other hand, was in high spirits. She logged into her online banking and increased her transfer limit, then wired the full $3.4 million for the house in a single transaction.
“All set–you can check your account now.” Ivy beamed with satisfaction, tilting her chin at him, her voice light and breezy.
Jamison hadn’t expected to not only lose money on the sale but also endure this kind of attitude. He shot Ivy a cold glare, lips pressed into a thin line, then turned and strode away
without another word.
Ivy’s mood soared even higher. She called after him, “Thank you, Mr. Jamison. Hope we never meet again!”
His retreating figure only seemed more frigid.
Back in his car, Jamison immediately dialed his nephew.
Meanwhile, Micah had just transferred the money to Ivy and was still basking in his own sense
of virtue.
When he saw his uncle’s name flash on the screen, he answered with a cheerful tone. “Uncle, what’s got you calling me today?”
Jamison was already fuming; hearing his nephew’s chipper mood only made it worse. “I swear, I could strangle you!”
“St–strangle me?” Micah stammered, instantly nervous. “What did I do? I haven’t even been around you lately.”
“Listen, Micah. Cheating men never end well. If you’re a failure, that’s just poor brain development–can’t blame you for that. But if your morals are rotten too, you better hope I never cross paths with you, or I’ll break your legs!”
With that threat, Jamison hung up and sped off toward the hospital.
On the other end, Micah was left completely baffled, staring at his phone and grumbling, “How
did I become a cheater? How am I the one with no morals? Jamison still treats me like a

kid–bad mood, and he just takes it out on me! If he’s got the guts, let’s settle it face to face!”
Of course, he only dared mutter this behind his uncle’s back. If Jamison were here in person, Micah wouldn’t dare say a word.
After leaving the real estate office, Ivy hailed a cab straight to the dealership.
Her new car had finally arrived.
A white Maserati–elegant, stylish, and radiating class.
She paid the balance and signed the paperwork. The staff arranged a small, warm handover ceremony just for her.
Sliding into the driver’s seat, Ivy couldn’t help but smile in satisfaction. One tap on the gas, and her luxury car glided through the bustling downtown streets, turning heads wherever she went.
“Wow, that’s gorgeous. Makes my old beater look like it belongs in a junkyard,” Katrina gasped as she walked out of the school gates, her eyes glued to her best friend’s new ride.
Ivy flicked her short hair and shot her a playful wink. “Come on, let’s take it for a spin.”
“Absolutely!”
Ivy and Katrina cruised through the city, and later that evening, treated themselves to a feast at
a chic downtown restaurant.
“House and car all sorted. What’s next?” Katrina asked over dinner. “Are you still planning to stay at the Windsor place?”
“Of course I am. Playing mind games with them is half the fun these days.”
After yesterday’s attempt to frame her, Ivy realized Emma was getting desperate. The coming battle would only get fiercer–and she was looking forward to it.
But thinking about how Emma kept sneaking into her room whenever she was out, Ivy paused, her mind quickly spinning with a new idea.
