Luke froze for a moment,then couldn’t help but sneer, “Zelea,you really have some tricks up you sleeve. You escape from the mental hospital and then have someone pretend to be a doctor to call me,right?”
The guilt and longing in his heart vanished in an instant. He angrily threw the photo into the trash can and turned to leave.
It was only then that he realized Sovia was standing behind him. He didn’t know when she’d appeared, but her beautiful eyes were fixed on him.
“Zelea is really childish,pretending to be a doctor just to scare you and make you worry,” she said,trying to reach out and loop her arm through his, but his cold expression stopped her.
“How long have you been eavesdropping?”
She was stunned for a moment, then pretended to walk back to Carol’s side,her eyes brimming
with tears.
Sovia knew very well that the man in front of her was unreliable. But the entire Gritorn Family was focused on her pregnancy. This was her only bargaining chip.
Sure enough, when they saw her in this state,Carol reproached, “Zelea is manipulative. She should have been sent to the mental hospital long ago. What if one day she has another episode and hurts my grandson!”

Luke felt that the people before him were impossible to reason with.It was them who should be sent to the mental hospital.
Suppressing his anger,he brushed past them and walked away.
The floor–to–ceiling window in the study had already turned red from the distant firelight and thick smoke was rolling toward them.
Luke unconsciously swallowed.
He suddenly realized that the winding mountain road was the only way to the mental hospital.

“It’s impossible.Someone like her, who harms her own children, always manages to survive. How could she just die?“He muttered to himself,biting his lower lip.
Just as he was about to make another phone call,the secretary burst into the study with a loud bang,covered in dirt,looking disheveled as he stood before him.
“Sandy,what happened?”
“It’s bad. Mrs. Gritorn had a car accident. She was killed on the spot. They’re doing an autopsy at the hospital right now!”
Luke felt as if he had been struck by lightning.A flash of bewilderment and disbelief crossed his face,but soon,it was replaced by anger.

Panicking,the secretary quickly took out a photo from the scene.
It was indeed the ambulance that had been carrying people.
But now,it was completely wrecked,scattered all over.
Luke staggered back,his steps unsteady as he collapsed against the screen behind him.

The secretary hurriedly rushed over to help him and they both ran to the hospital.
However,standing outside the morgue,Luke actually hesitated.
He stood there,his calves trembling. Under the harsh white light,he appeared pale and weak. When his fingertips touched the white cloth,his whole body went cold and he couldn’t stop trembling.
He didn’t dare lift the cloth,even more afraid of seeing that familiar face.
“Mr.Gritorn, we’ve already made cosmetic adjustments,so there are no signs of the accident or
her face…”
Luke took a deep breath and the moment he lifted the cloth,he clearly heard the sound of his own heartbeat.
The person who had once wanted to stay with him for life,the person who had killed his son,was now lying quietly on the cold iron bed.
Zelea…was really dead.
