Chapter 26
After a long silence,Zelea finally spoke:
“Dion is very dedicated when it comes to relationships, unlike you,who can’t distinguish right from wrong. And he wouldn’t have sent me to a mental hospital out of nowhere.”
He stood frozen in place,a bitter and sour pain filling his chest.
The most laughable part was that he didn’t even have the right to argue back.
He had done those things himself. The fact that he could stand here and have a conversation with her was already a stolen moment of happiness.
A strong dizziness hit him and he staggered backward,collapsing next to the tea table.
The tips of his fingers were ice–cold. “Zelea,l give you a choice. This knife decides my life anc death.”
He pointed the knife at himself,placing it in her hands.“If you kill me,you’ll be free.”
Luke stubbornly closed his eyes. He was gambling on a possibility, hoping that she still loved him.
But the next second,a sharp pain shot through his waist.
Zelea’s hand trembled uncontrollably,her face as pale as death. Gritting her teeth,she stabbed
three more times.
“You think I won’t dare to lay a hand on you?Luke,don’t even think about making me go back with
you!”
After speaking,she yanked the knife out sharply. The blood stained the floor,flowing along the wooden planks and out the door.
“I hate you,every day,every moment,I hate you!”
Zelea swung her arm and stabbed again,this time into his shoulder.
She could even clearly hear the sound of his bones cracking.
Hatred gradually faded and rationality took control.
The dagger fell by her leg,making a crisp sound. The overwhelming blood made her panic and she quickly turned to escape.
But Luke grabbed the hem of her clothes.
The blood soaked through his shirt and a bitter smile involuntarily crept onto his lips.
Supporting himself with his right hand on the wall,he staggered over to stand in front of her.
The knife was placed in her hands once again.
Without a moment’s hesitation,he extended his arms and pulled her into an embrace.
The closer they got,the deeper the blade sank.
“Luke,are you crazy?Let go of me!”
She cried out in shock, trying to push him away,but his grip was abnormally strong. No matter how much she struggled,he refused to let go.
“Being with you,even if it means dying,it doesn’t matter.”
A surge of impatience rose in Zelea’s heart.

She lifted her foot and kicked him hard on the calf.“Even if you die in front of me,I will never forgive you.”
Luke’s consciousness was becoming hazy when he heard the sound of the door crashing open.
Using the moment of clarity, he pulled the sharp knife out and gripped it in his hand.
Tyson and Carol burst through the door. Upon seeing him covered in blood,their legs gave way,almost causing them to faint.
“You…you hurt my son!“Carol cried,struggling to catch her breath,wanting to question Zelea.
“Mom,it was me who did it,I just wanted…to apologize…I just wanted…to make her…come back…”
Everyone fell silent. Tyson sighed heavily,his disappointment and frustration palpable.
He was powerless.
Luke fell into a coma and was taken away by the arriving doctors.
Left behind, Tyson and Carol exchanged helpless glances,unable to approach Zelea.
Their voices were filled with a hint of humility and pleading.“Zelea,please come back with us this time. We have indeed made you suffer,but we were also deceived by Sovia. We are innocent too!”
Carol clutched her chest,trying to use a pity act to make Zelea feel sorry for her.
However,Zelea merely avoided her touch.
Carol’s face turned awkward for a moment,her tone tinged with displeasure.
“Can you really bear to let Luke live in guilt like this,unable to escape it?”
