Under the same moonlight,some were happy,while others were troubled.
Dion furrowed his brow and placed the attendance list in front of her.
“The Gritorn Family’s company will send someone over and if nothing unexpected happens,it will be Luke. Their company has nothing to do with jewelry. The purpose of their visit should be for you. Do you want to go?Should I kick him out?”
Zelea stared at the list for a moment,then smiled softly and shook her head. “He’s already helper me so much.Some things,I must face myself.”
Dion fully respected her decision.
As night fell,the banquet hall was brightly lit and the exquisite candelabras reflected on the water’s surface,adding to the luxurious atmosphere.
This was Zelea’s first time attending such an event,yet she showed no signs of nervousness.He noble and elegant demeanor set her apart from everyone else.
Dion graciously introduced her,helping her establish connections in the jewelry design industry,paving the way for her future.
With wine glasses clinking and lively conversation flowing,she grew even more natural and
relaxed.
By chance,her eyes caught sight of a dark expression.
She was unafraid and instead,leaned a little closer to Dion.
“Zelea,you’re truly beautiful,it’s hard to look away.I came here just to see you. As long as I see you,I’ll be satisfied.”
Zelea ignored him,continuing to engage in pleasant conversation with those around her.
She completely ignored him and walked over to the piece she designed,explaining her design
concept.
Dion’s gaze never left her,a faint smile playing at the corner of his lips.
Finally,it was time for the auction segment.
All the exhibits were up for bidding,including the piece designed by Zelea herself.
Luke immediately raised his bidding paddle just as the disc–shaped jade pendant with the dragon design had just been presented.
“This gift is for a lady who appreciates beauty.I must have it and I hope everyone will allow me
to have it.”
But he was wrong. How could Dion possibly give him the chance?
He raised his paddle.“I bid seven million dollars.”
The anger nearly consumed Luke’s rationality,leaving him unable to think clearly.
Dion was doing it on purpose.
“Eight million!”
He had to win the jade pendant and personally give it to Zelea.
For them,this was not just an ordinary jade pendant.

Dion laughed out loud. The company had countless jade pendants like this,but he had to crush Luke’s confidence,
“Fourteen million,”
The moment those words were spoken,the entire room fell silent.
The value of the jade pendant was nowhere near fourteen million and it might not even be worth
ten million.
No one understood why they were subtly competing like this.
“Twenty million!”
Luke gritted his teeth,ready to crush them in frustration,
All of the company’s startup capital was in his hands. Twenty million was no small amount.
Had it been before,he would have thought he was crazy.But this time,he was willing to spend a fortune,just to exchange for a smile from Zelea.
That wasn’t a loss in itself.
Dion was about to raise the price again when he sensed the helpless sigh of the person beside
him.
Overjoyed,Luke held the jade pendant tightly and,after the auction ended,he walked toward Zelea with great satisfaction. He presented it to her as if it were a treasured possession.
“I know this jade pendant is nowhere near as valuable as your mom’s heirloom,but this is my sincere gift to you. I hope you can accept it and not hate me anymore,okay?”
Zelea leaned against the railing,letting the cold wind brush past her, but she didn’t take the pendant.
“I don’t need it. Take your guilt and repentance and stay far away from me.”
