Chapter 3
Theodore Vale suddenly realized his loss of composure and suppressed his anger:
“Sister–in–law, if you leave the family, what will happen when my brother wakes up? Won’t you wait for him
anymore?”
“Our child will be born without a mother. Can you bear that?”
Irene’s voice choked:
“It’s been two years. Ronan won’t wake up… As for the child, just tell him Clara Ellison is his mother. That’s what you planned originally anyway.”
Theodore Vale glanced at me coldly:
“She’s a jealous woman. I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want her corrupting the child.”
I sneered and grabbed the phone:
“Irene, I have no interest in being a stepmother, and I’ve seen enough of your little show. Let’s be clear today – I’m out of this disgusting love triangle!”
Panicked sobbing came from the other end, and Irene hastily hung up.
The next second, Theodore Vale violently grabbed my hair and pressed my face hard against the car window, his voice sinister:
“Clara Ellison, are you fucking sick?”
My face was pressed and distorted, my lips tight against the cold glass. I couldn’t make a sound and could only struggle desperately.
The driver glanced in the rearview mirror and hesitantly spoke:
“President, Madam was just speaking in anger…”
“It’s not your place to interfere!” Theodore Vale harshly interrupted. “She’s been too spoiled all these years and has forgotten basic manners.”
As he spoke, he increased the pressure:
“Clara Ellison, when we get home, you’d better apologize to my sister–in–law!”
The car window glass pressed painfully against my cheekbone, making breathing increasingly difficult.

At a red light, passengers on the nearby bus raised their phones.
Perhaps in a few minutes, my most ugly and humiliating appearance would be on social media news.
I trembled all over and nodded with difficulty.
Theodore Vale finally released his grip.
Seeing the red marks on my face, he reached out to touch them: “Clara Ellison, you really are too delicate.”
I instinctively avoided his touch, curling up in the corner by the car door.
He suddenly pulled a mocking smile: “Playing pitiful again?”
Then he casually curved his lips, speaking in a tone like coaxing a child:
“Alright, alright, it was my fault just now. I made my wife suffer, okay?”
I bit my lower lip hard until I tasted blood before releasing it: “As long as you’re happy.”
He suddenly kicked the front seat and cursed under his breath: “Psycho!”
As soon as we reached the front door, Theodore Vale dragged me toward the villa.
At the entrance, Irene was leaving with her suitcase.
Her originally smooth long hair had been cut unevenly, and she wiped tears as she walked.
Theodore Vale strode forward and hugged her, his fingers trembling as they touched her hair ends, his eyes overflowing with heartache.
“Sister–in–law, don’t cry anymore. I’ve already taught Clara Ellison a lesson. She speaks without thinking – don’t take
it to heart.”
Irene suddenly broke free from his embrace and knelt heavily in front of me, kowtowing:
“Sister–in–law, please, I beg you to persuade Theodore to let me abort the child. I’m sorry to his brother, sorry to you, sorry to everyone. This child shouldn’t be born…”
Theodore Vale frantically held her, but she viciously beat her own abdomen:
“My child and I deserve to die! When Ronan wakes up in the future, please don’t tell him about this. I want to remain a clean woman in his heart.”
I rolled my eyes and turned to leave.
“Clara Ellison! Apologize!”

Theodore Vale held the tearful Irene as they knelt on the ground, looking at me coldly.
As if I were the one who had committed heinous crimes.
I scoffed lightly:
“Sorry, it’s all my fault. Happy now?”
