This was a complete loss of composure.
As if to escape, I turned to look at Logan beside me, only to find that he, too, seemed off. He was staring blankly, something I’d never seen him do before. His eyes were fixed on Damian’s profile, unblinking.
I suddenly remembered the flurry of comments from before. Someone had mentioned that the villain and the hero had an old grudge.
Damian was the villain.
So was Logan the hero?
In everyone’s eyes, he was perfection. His life was paved with applause and accolades. Everyone valued
him. Women loved him, men envied him, and those in power saw only him. To the outside world, he was devoted and faithful, the loyal childhood sweetheart who remained true after marriage. He seemed flawless.
Was he the hero?
And did he and Damian really have a history?
