Chapter 7
“Ah!”
Tammy’s shrill scream echoed through the night.
However, Toby did not even look at her. He stubbornly kept walking toward me, step by
step.
He gazed at me. His eyes welled up with tears again.
“Stacy, look! I’ve gotten rid of that crazy woman. Can you believe in my sincerity now?”
I frowned, not wanting to get caught up in this any longer. Rubbing my sore body from the
collision, I tried to leave.
Before I could move, he grabbed me first. It was as though he was trying to fuse us
together, he held me tightly in his arms.
“Please, forgive me. Let’s start over, just like before. Let’s have another child, please.”
He held me, but I felt nothing. My face was calm as I pushed him away.
“I’ve already decided to go to my friend’s pack and learn how to be a tracker. As for you… It’s too late, Toby. Your regret and realization came too late.”
I tried to step around him, but he suddenly dropped to his knees, blocking my path.
Choking on his words, he grabbed the hem of my clothes, pleading with me desperately,
“I’ve lost the child. I can’t lose you too… I know I was wrong. Please, don’t leave me! I can’t live without you.”
His voice was filled with pain and despair.
Yet I felt nothing.
All my gentleness vanished the moment I lost the child.

I would not soften for this man anymore.

“The person you need to apologize to isn’t just me, it is our child. But you will never get his forgiveness, will you? Go back, Toby. We have nothing left between us.”
Toby stood frozen, like a statue.
It seemed like no blood flowed through him anymore, and the light in his eyes vanished.
I said all I needed to say, and I had no patience left for him.
I pulled his hand off me and shifted into my wolf form, determined to run toward my new future.

When Toby came to his senses, he grabbed my tail, making his last desperate attempt to hold me back.
“I am willing to atone! As long as I can be with you, I’d give up everything to make amends!
“You don’t have to forgive me, Stacy! I am willing to give up my identity, my family, everything! I am no longer bound by anything—I’d even be willing to become a Rouge! Please, let me leave with you. Give me a chance to follow you, to take care of you. Please?”
I was taken aback for a moment.
I never thought Toby, who once valued his family’s reputation so much, would say something like this.
After all, he had refused to establish a Mate bond with me and perform the marking ceremony because his family did not like me.
Now, it was all just his fantasy. Toby thought I’d agreed when I remained silent. He eagerly made to shift into wolf form and leave with me but then came Tammy’s piercing scream
from behind.
“Ah! Toby! My stomach hurts so much, please help me…”
“Are you done with this act?!”

“Toby, this time it’s real…”
Amy stood by, staring at Tammy in shock.
Toby turned impatiently, only to see Tammy on the ground, bleeding heavily, crying and begging for help.
This time, it was real.
Toby’s expression froze. At that moment, I could clearly see the struggle in his eyes.
He eventually lowered his head, unable to look me in the eye.
“Go ahead. Even if she lied to you, you cannot completely ignore her.”
My calm words cut through Toby’s heart like a sharp arrow.
His face turned pale. His trembling hands fell helplessly by his sides. When he lifted his eyes to meet mine, they were full of pleading and determination.
“Stacy! One last time! Wait here, I’ll take her to the treatment room, and then I’ll come back and leave with you.”
Then, he quickly scooped Tammy up and ran toward the town with Amy.
I calmly watched his fading figure, leaving without looking back.
Too bad, whether it was the first time or the last.
I never once thought of leaving with you.
