Chapter Fifteen
“You’re a disgrace to the Bloodfang name,” Alpha Silas growled, voice edged with disgust.
Ronan Stood rigid before the towering fireplace in the grand council chamber of the Bloodfang Estate. The flames crackled behind him, but no warmth reached his bones–not with his father’s fury scorching through the room.
“Your reckless attack nearly exposed our entire bloodline to the Council Elders,” Silas snapped pacing like a caged predator. “Clans are pulling their allegiance. Our allies are whispering betrayal. Do you realize what you’ve cost us?”
Ronan clenched his jaw, fists curled at his sides. He’d heard it all before, but today, the weight o his father’s disappointment settled heavier than ever.
“You were nearly torn apart by rogue enforcers on Northern Clan soil,” Silas seethed, turning sharply. “And I had to trade favors with the Elders just to keep the High Court from placing a death mark on your head.”
Silas stepped closer, eyes glowing faintly gold with restrained alpha rage. “You slaughtered you! own pup–your heir–for that witch! I–should have drowned you the night you shifted!”
Ronan’s breath caught, but he didn’t flinch. He met his father’s glare with a silent defiance.
“You’ve stained the Bloodfang legacy with your idiocy,” Silas continued. “And now, you’ve declared open hostility against Killian Blackmane? Do you even understand who he is?”
“I don’t give a damn who he is!” Ronan Snarled, his eyes briefly flashing with the fury of his wolf. “I’ll tear through the entire Northern Forest if I have to. I’m getting Lunara back!”
Silas sneered, voice razor sharp. “You won’t go near her. Or him. As of now, you’re grounded to
the estate.”
Ronan Blinked, stunned. “What?”
“You heard me,” Silas said coldly. “No more unsanctioned runs. No portal travel. No messengers. Your scent doesn’t leave this land until I say so.”
“I’m not a cub to leash!” Ronan growled, his claws itching beneath his skin.
Silas turned away, already done with him. “You’ve been acting like one. Get out of my sight before I forget you’re still my blood.”
Rage pulsed like a drumbeat in Ronan’s head as he stormed out. He could feel his wolf snarling inside him, barely contained. He’d been so close–so close–to reclaiming Lunara. But Killian had arrived with elite warriors, warriors trained in shadow–walk and silence, appearing from the trees like spirits. That level of protection wasn’t normal. Killian wasn’t just some Northern Alpha–he was something more. But Ronan didn’t care. Next time, he’d be smarter. Next time, he wouldn’t
hesitate.
He winced as his fingers twitched, remembering the moment his fury slipped and the blast of magic misfired–hitting Lunara. He hadn’t meant to hurt her. His beast had just… snapped.
She was fine now. She would understand–he would explain everything when he saw her again.

thunder. The stench of tears and panic hit him instantly. Then, he heard her.
Ashira.She sat curled on the floor near the hearth, her glamor fading under the weight of her sobs. The glowing screen behind her showed headlines on the Midnight Network.
> “Ashira Moonfang Exposed: Betrayal from Within?”
“From Luna–in–Waiting to Pack Pariah: The Truth Behind Lunara and Ronan’s Fall.”
She looked up with puffy eyes, mascara streaked like war paint across her face. “They’re tearing me apart!” she sobbed. “The entire Crescent Valley hates me!”
Ronan Ignored her, striding toward the crystal decanter of bloodwine. He poured himself a drink the clink of glass oddly satisfying.
“Ronan!” Ashira cried, stumbling to her feet. “Do something! They’re calling me a whore! I can’t walk through the market without being spat on!”
“You should’ve been more careful,” he muttered, taking a sip.
Ashira’s jaw dropped. “Are you kidding me?! That’s all you have to say?”
Ronan Turned away, growling under his breath. “I have more important things to deal with.”
“I’m carrying your pup!” she screamed, stepping forward. “Your only pup! What about me? What about us?”
He whirled on her. “There is no us, Ashira. There never was. I’m getting Lunara back.”
Ashira’s breath caught. “You–what? After everything? You told me I was better than her. You said you loved me.”
Ronan’s face twisted. “I did. I thought I did. But things… changed.”
Ashira’s voice shook. “More than her?”
He didn’t answer. He didn’t need to.
Ashira’s hands balled into fists. “You said you wished she was gone… that we’d be together if she vanished. And now she is. She left you. She chose him.”
“She was tricked!” Ronan barked, slamming his glass onto the mantle. “Manipulated by Killian’s mind games.”
Ashira’s laugh was bitter, broken. “Still blaming others for your failures?”
He glared at her. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“I made her leave, Ronan.” Ashira hissed, voice trembling with emotion. “I sent her visions. Glamored her dreams. I wanted her to suffer. To feel like you belonged to me.”
His breath caught.
“I showed her everything,” she whispered. “The way you touched me. The things you said…”
“What did you just say?” he asked, voice deathly low.
Ashira hesitated.In an instant, he lunged, grabbing her by the throat and slamming her against the stone wall. “You ruined everything!” he roared. “You pushed her away!”
Ashira gasped, clawing at his arm, her eyes wide with terror. “R–Ronan…”
“You think I would’ve lost her without your meddling? You think this is love?!”
Her face reddened as she choked. “I… did it for us…”

Ronan swallowed hard. That trip to the Northern Clans would have to wait.
