On the last page, he saw his name.

There were three video files on the USB.
He clicked on the first.
Cecilia appeared on the screen, her back
facing the camera, standing just outside the
study door.
Inside, the sound of his and Leah’s flirtatious
laughter came through clearly. And she had
just stood there quietly for a long time.

Those words rang out, cold, sharp, and
deliberate.
The housekeeper paused for a beat, then
quickly moved to support Leah.

His expression was ice, eyes glinting with a
strange flicker of excitement. “Paintings.
Right. Thanks for reminding me of those
paintings.”
“Keep a close eye on her. When Cecilia
comes back, we’ll return them to her with
interest.”
