Yuria had been wondering how to get information about that man, and now luck was just falling into her lap.

She smiled at Mrs. Cullen. “Mrs. Cullen, please tell him I said thank you.”
“Of course, of course,” Mrs. Cullen replied.
“I should head to my movie now–it’s about to start,” Yuria said.
“Yes, go ahead. Don’t miss the good parts,” Mrs. Cullen said warmly.
Yuria left happily, feeling like Mrs. Cullen’s gaze was following her, though she wasn’t sure if that was just her imagination.
Mrs. Cullen did indeed watch Yuria walk toward the theater with her female friend before looking away.
She muttered to herself, “Not bad, not bad at all.”
Just then, Alaric returned looking dejected.
He hadn’t found Anastasia and was understandably disappointed.
His mother asked, “What were you doing just now? Why did you run off so fast?”
Unable to find the person he was looking for and in a bad mood, Alaric didn’t want to elaborate. “I was in a hurry about
something.”
Mrs. Cullen assumed he’d needed the restroom and didn’t press further.
As they were heading home, Mrs. Cullen asked, “What did you think of that girl just now?”
-Alaric’s eyes flickered–he thought his mother had figured out he’d been chasing after Anastasia. “What girl?”
“The girl from today–she’s from the Rhodes family, Yuria. Pretty good–looking and well–mannered,” Mrs. Cullen said.
Alaric hadn’t been entirely sure if the person he’d met before was really from the Rhodes family, but now that his mother confirmed it, he knew he hadn’t been wrong!
“Mom, she’s pretty great, isn’t she?” Alaric said.
Mrs. Cullen nodded, finding Yuria’s family background impeccable.
“Even though Yuria isn’t from the main branch, she’s the only girl in the entire Rhodes family, so they all dote on her. Whoever marries her would benefit tremendously in their career.”
Alaric pursed his lips–he wasn’t interested in any of that.

When he liked someone, it was purely for who they were, nothing else.
Anastasia and Tamia were walking through the mall when they suddenly saw someone collapse and lose consciousness.
They exchanged glances and immediately rushed over.
Other people had seen the man fall too, but they just stood around watching–no one dared to actually help.
Anastasia checked the man and found his heart had stopped and his breathing had become extremely weak.
“I learned CPR during a training course. Let me try,” Anastasia said.
“Good, I’ll call 911,” Tamia replied.
The ambulance hadn’t arrived yet, so Anastasia continued chest compressions.
Tamia could see that Anastasia was getting tired, but she wasn’t giving up.
“Come on, Anastasia, you’ve got this,” Tamia encouraged.
Anastasia pressed her lips together and continued the compressions without a word.
Even though she was exhausted, she didn’t dare stop, knowing that if she did, all her previous efforts might be wasted.
Finally, the paramedics arrived, and the man’s heartbeat had returned. The lead paramedic praised her: “Ma’am, your technique was very professional. Thank you for giving the patient those crucial four minutes! Are you a medical professional?”
Anastasia shook her head. “No, but my company really emphasizes this stuff, so they had us all trained in emergency
response.”
At the time, Anastasia had been thinking about having Elisabeth, an elderly person, at home, and how emergencies could happen at any time, so she’d been particularly diligent in her studies.
She never expected to actually use what she’d learned.
Anastasia remembered the trainer saying that effective CPR within four minutes of cardiac arrest gave a relatively high success rate for resuscitation.
After four minutes, brain cells would start suffering irreversible damage from lack of oxygen.
Seeing the man regain consciousness and get taken away, both Anastasia and Tamia breathed sighs of relief.
Tamia cleared her throat and held up her hand like a microphone, doing a mock interview. “Now let’s interview Miss Anastasia. Were you scared just now? When you rushed to help him, weren’t you worried he or his family might try to scam you?”
Anastasia shook her head. “At that moment, my mind went completely blank. I was just thinking about getting his heartbeat back. I didn’t really think about anything else.”
“After all, it was a human life. How could I just stand by and do nothing?”
“Oh my God, you’re absolutely amazing,” Tamia said.

“You’re welcome. It was nothing,” Anastasia replied.
“Do you know who I am?” Dan asked.
Anastasia found his question rather odd.
But looking at his expression, she could guess what he was getting at.
“Whether it was last night or now, I have no idea who you are. I’m not interested in your identity either. You don’t need to thank me because it really was nothing–anyone else would have helped you too. The people who ultimately saved you weren’t me, but the hospital staff.”
Dan was taken aback–he hadn’t expected Anastasia to say something like that.
He laughed heartily. “Regardless, I’m genuinely grateful to you. Would you do me the honor of letting me take you to dinner?”
Anastasia declined warily, “That’s not necessary.”
Dan suddenly smiled.
He’d thought Anastasia might be interested in his wealth, but instead this young woman seemed to think he had ulterior
motives.
He thought Anastasia was quite an interesting person.
He smiled and said, “That’s fine. Here’s my business card. If you ever need anything in the future, I’ll help you.”
Anastasia accepted Dan’s card and said, “Thank you.”
After Dan left, Anastasia casually put his business card in her bag.
That evening, Cassian called Anastasia: “Want to come to a business dinner with me tonight?”
“Sure,” Anastasia replied.
“I’ll have Philips pick you up.”

Even though Cassian sounded casual about it, she was worried the event might be too formal and her casual clothes would embarrass him.
