Anastasia and Tamia were out shopping together. Tamia had just closed another big deal today and was expecting a hefty commission, so she was in high spirits and had dragged Anastasia out to treat her to something nice.
Suddenly, Tamia sneezed. “I’m always calling you out to hang with me whenever I’m free. Your husband’s not gonna be mad at me, is he?”
Anastasia laughed. “You sneeze because your nose itches, and somehow that’s my husband’s fault?”
“Ugh, you’re so whipped! You’re not the same Anastasia anymore.”
Anastasia looked at Tamia helplessly. “I swear I’m not!”
Alaric was reluctantly accompanying his mother on a shopping trip–getting him out of the house was like pulling teeth.
He was lazily looking around when something caught his eye–a face he hadn’t expected to see.
It was the girl from the Rhodes estate that day!
Yuria!
Alaric muttered under his breath and started following in Anastasia’s direction.
His mother was just examining a necklace. “Alaric, what do you think of this one?”
No response.
When she turned around, her son who had been right beside her was now at the store entrance.
She called after him several times, but Alaric seemed completely oblivious.
However, by the time Alaric made it outside, Anastasia was nowhere to be seen.
He felt disappointed, wondering if he’d just been missing her so much that he was seeing things.
Just then, Yuria was walking by with a bubble tea when someone bumped into her, nearly knocking her over.
Alaric happened to be right there and quickly caught her arm to steady her.
Yuria was stunned for a moment, and when she saw Alaric’s handsome face, she seemed frozen in place.
“Th… thank you,” Yuria said dazedly.
After making sure Yuria was okay, Aláric quickly let go. “Good thing you’re alright.”
Yuria felt her heart pounding so hard it seemed ready to burst from her chest.
She thought she’d heard someone call “Yuria” earlier, which had made her lose focus and get bumped into,
But this collision had led to such an unexpected encounter.

Alaric’s mind was completely occupied with Anastasia, so he hurried away.
His mother caught up, and this was the first time she’d ever seen her son–who usually kept his distance from women–being so close to a girl.
When she got a clear look at the girl’s face, she had an idea.
“Yuria?”
“Mrs. Cullen.” Yuria greeted her politely when she saw Alaric’s mother.
The more Mrs. Cullen looked at Yuria, the more pleased she became. She nodded. “Are you here shopping?”
“Yes, I’m meeting a friend to see a movie.”
“A boyfriend?”
Though it was somewhat improper to ask, Mrs. Cullen couldn’t help herself.
Yuria blushed and shook her head. “No, just a college classmate.”
Almost impulsively, she added, “A girl.”
Mrs. Cullen’s heart leaped with joy–this was promising!
“That was my son, Alaric. He just came back from studying abroad. He’s a bit excitable, like a big kid,” she said.
Yuria’s eyes immediately lit up.
