Jasper’s body tensed as he slowly looked up at Valeria.
What started as a casual glance became something more intense when he actually saw her. His whole body reacted instantly. heat pooling in his lower abdomen.
The only way to describe it was that he was completely spellbound.
He stood up stiffly and walked toward her.
Valeria swayed seductively to meet him halfway, purring. “Jasper, baby.”
When Jasper reached her, he pulled her into his arms.
He inhaled deeply–Valeria had this intoxicating scent that made his head spin.
“You smell incredible,” Jasper said, his voice rough.
Valeria giggled and stood on her tiptoes, pressing herself against him.
Just as Jasper was about to sweep her off her feet, he suddenly felt her pregnant belly against him.
He froze and pushed her back slightly.
Valeria looked at him with hazy eyes, pouting. “What’s wrong?”
Looking at Valeria’s obvious bump, Jasper’s desire instantly evaporated.
He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. “You do realize what condition you’re in, right?”
Valeria pressed close to him again seductively. “It’s fine, I asked the doctor. After the first trimester, it’s totally safe…”
Jasper’s interest immediately returned. “You’re sure?”
Valeria nodded and let her robe fall open, giving him tantalizing glimpses of what was underneath.
Jasper’s eyes darkened, and he lost all self–control, pulling her down with him.
Valeria had been craving this for months too, and she got completely swept up in the moment.
Maybe the aphrodisiac perfume Whitney had given her was too strong, because Jasper and Valeria lost themselves completely, going at it again and again..
Suddenly, Valeria cried out in pain. “My stomach–oh God, it hurts so bad…”
Jasper stopped immediately at her agonized scream.
He looked down in panic and saw bright red blood between her legs, making his vision blur.
“You’re you’re bleeding,” Jasper whispered in shock.

Valeria grabbed his hand desperately. “The hospital! I need to get to the hospital! Something’s wrong with the baby…”
Outside the emergency room, Jasper stood by the door covered in blood.
He was completely panicked, his mind blank.
He had no idea how things had gone so wrong.
Just then, rapid footsteps echoed down the hallway.
“What the hell happened? Is my grandson okay?” Megan rushed over, her voice tight with worry.
Jasper bit his lip and shook his head. “I don’t know. She said her stomach hurt, and then she started bleeding.”
Megan’s brow furrowed. “Valeria must have been careless somehow to cause…”
Her voice trailed off as she noticed the hickeys covering Jasper’s neck.
Her expression darkened. “Did she find out you were cheating?! I told you to keep it in your pants until after the baby comes! Just wait until she delivers, but no, you had to…”
“Mom,” Jasper interrupted. “Stop! Today it was me and her…”
“WHAT?!” Megan’s eyes went wide with shock. She raised her hand to slap him but couldn’t bring herself to do it. “Are you out of your fucking mind?! You knew she was pregnant and you still…”
Jasper looked at Megan innocently. “It wasn’t my fault! She seduced me! She said it was safe now that she’s past the first trimester, so I…”
Megan’s expression turned murderous.
She snorted coldly. “Just like her trashy mother–can’t keep her legs shut! That bitch, if anything happens to my precious grandson, I’ll make her pay!”
At first, Megan had thought Valeria came from decent stock as a Kingsley daughter. Only after getting to know her did she realize Valeria was just a pretty airhead.
Later, when she had Valeria investigated, she discovered the truth about her background.
She was even worse than Anastasia!
If she’d known from the start, she never would have let Valeria get her claws into Jasper. But it was too late now.
So Megan was gritting her teeth and bearing it for now.
She’d wait until Valeria delivered the baby, then settle the score.
Whitney and Sharpson had just arrived and heard Megan’s entire rant.
Whitney’s face went through several shades of red and white.
Sharpson looked at Whitney. “What exactly happened here?”

Whitney bit her lip, not wanting to explain.
Under Sharpson’s pressure, Whitney finally confessed everything..
After hearing her account, Sharpson was so furious he could barely breathe.
“Do you think your daughter’s some kind of prostitute?! Teaching her to…” Sharpson angrily waved his hand. “You two are going to be the death of me! You’ve completely destroyed the Kingsley family reputation!”
Whitney felt wronged too. She’d only done it because she was worried about Jasper straying and Valeria losing her position.
“Normal relations wouldn’t have caused problems. You and I used to…” Whitney started.
Sharpson’s face turned red. “That was different! Maybe Valeria’s constitution isn’t the same as yours.”
Whitney suspected that Jasper and Valeria had gotten way too rough.
But with Valeria still in the ER fighting for her life, there was no point speculating.
If they asked Jasper, he definitely wouldn’t tell the truth, so they’d have to wait until Valeria was out of danger to get the real
story.
They waited until dawn–over ten hours–and everyone was exhausted, but Valeria and the baby were still in critical condition.
That same day, Anastasia and her grandmother came to the hospital to pick up blood pressure medication. In the elevator, they overheard some cleaning ladies gossiping.
They weren’t trying to eavesdrop, but sharing an elevator made it impossible not to hear.
When the doors opened, Elisabeth led Anastasia out and said, “Anastasia, when you get pregnant someday, please don’t get too wild with your husband. It’s dangerous for both you and the baby. I don’t want anything to happen to you, understood?”
Elisabeth spoke matter–of–factly, but Anastasia’s face turned bright red.
She nodded obediently. “Got it.”
“Know what? Chickens that can’t lay eggs shouldn’t worry about hatching chicks,” came a mocking voice. “You’d have pregnant first before you can worry about that stuff.”
Anastasia recognized that voice immediately. She turned to see Megan with a sneer plastered across her face.
Anastasia also spotted Jasper, Sharpson, and the others.
Her gaze fell on Jasper’s bloodstained pajamas, and she instantly understood what had happened.
