Soon after, Ana came down with the coffee.
Sonia had also come downstairs and said coquettishly to Cassian, “Cassian, why didn’t
wake me up when you left?”
Why didn’t he wake her? Because when Cassian heard that Ana would be handling the shoot, he’d been so eager to see her that he’d rushed downstairs without giving Sonia a second thought.
As for a certain someone else, he naturally had his own agenda, though he seemed to be in for some self–inflicted suffering.
“I forgot,” Cassian said simply.
Those two simple words made Sonia feel unappreciated and ignored.
“Cassian, after the shoot, could you maybe=”
“Mr. Rhodes, your coffee.”
Ana walked over to Cassian and rather abruptly handed him the coffee.
Her movement was so sudden that the full cup sloshed, nearly spilling on Sonia.
“Anastasia! How can you be so…” Sonia started angrily, but caught herself in front of Cassian and swallowed the word “careless.”
Through gritted teeth, she said, “You need to be more careful. That coffee is hot–what if you’d burned Cassian?”
Sonia deliberately called him “Cassian” in front of Ana, wanting to show that she had an intimate relationship with him that an outsider like Ana couldn’t interfere with.
Cassian took a sip of Ana’s coffee. “Ana, you make excellent coffee.”
“I’m glad you like it, Mr. Rhodes,” Ana replied.
“Is it really that good? Sweet or bitter?” Theo asked.
“Sweet,” Cassian said.
How could coffee made by his beloved wife be anything but sweet?
Theo’s mouth twitched. Cassian was clearly head–over–heels in love if he thought coffee could be sweet. Did Ana put a lethal amount of sugar in it?
“Sonia, come get your hair and makeup done. You’ve already delayed the shoot,” Aurora told her.
Sonia was unhappy but obediently went to get ready.
Aurora watched Sonia, clearly wanting to say something but holding back.
If Cassian and Ana hadn’t both asked her to keep their relationship secret, Aurora would have given Sonia a piece of her mind right then and there.
The couple had a great relationship–who was Sonia to interfere?
“Sonia, watch what you say from now on,” Aurora warned.
Sonia stiffened, then looked at Aurora with hurt in her eyes. “Aurora, did I do something wrong to upset you? Please tell me and I’ll fix it.”
Aurora frowned. Could Sonia really not understand what she was saying?
When Aurora didn’t respond, Sonia felt even more pleased with herself.

After about an hour, Sonia’s hair and makeup were finally ilone.
Ana came over to check the finished look and held jewelry up against Sonia to see how it would look.
She frowned and turned to the makeup artist. “Why did you make the makeup so heavy? Didn’t I tell you that today’s focus should be on Rhodes Global’s jewelry? Everything else is secondary, so the spokesperson’s makeup should be more subtle.”
“It wasn’t… it was…” The makeup artist glanced toward Sonia.
Sonia said nothing, but her face darkened like a storm cloud.
“What are you trying to say, Anastasia?!” Sonia snapped. “I’ve been in this business for years, and this is the first time I’ve heard anyone suggest that a person should tone down their look for jewelry! Jewelry is supposed to complement us and enhance our beauty.”
“That’s true in general…” Ana began.
