Among the child husbands, the most shocked were undoubtedly Damien and Owen.
“Aury, are you kidding?” just to spite me?”
en asked, his expression cold. “Is this because I gave ‘Tears of the Ocean‘ to Sloane instead of you? So now you’re pulling this stunt
Owen looked equally frustrated. “Aury, why did you choose Theo? If you just wanted to get back at Damien, you could’ve picked me! I would’ve gladly let you use me!”
His heartfelt plea moved many of the guests.
“Owen really loves Aurelia… I heard he even jumped off a building for her.”
“Why wouldn’t Aurelia pick him? a man loved me that much, I’d marry him in a heartbeat!”
“Everyone in Vantrel knows Owen’s been hopelessly in love with Aurelia for years. But she’s never looked back at him, not even once…‘

Everyone present was voicing sympathy for Owen. They pitied how deeply he had loved, only to be let down. They also pitied the way his love had gone unrequited. Hearing all the murmurs of pity, Aurelia couldn’t help but laugh.
She turned to meet Owen’s lovestruck gaze and asked with a smile, “Owen, do you really love me that much?”
“Of course,” Owen replied without hesitation. “Aury, I love you. I’d do anything for you even die for you!”
Aurelia’s smile didn’t fade. “You love me that much? That’s funny. Because I heard the real reason you jumped off that building was to scare me off.”
Owen’s face turned ghost–white. “W–What? Who told you that? Was it Milo? Aury, don’t listen to him. He’s making it up. He’s completely slandering me.
“I swear I never said that. I love you. I really do! No one in this world loves you more than I do!”
Owen’s performance was so convincing that, for a split second, Aurelia nearly believed him. But unfortunately for him, she already knew the truth. So, no matter. how well he played the part now, it was meaningless.
Tired of wasting breath, Aurelia pulled out a voice recorder and pressed play.
“That idiot, Aurelia, probably still thinks I’m head over heels for her. But that jump? It wasn’t to confess anything—it was to scare her off.” Owen’s mocking voice crackled from the recorder, sending a wave of shock through the room as everyone stood frozen in disbelief.
As for Owen, the color drained from his face in an instant.
“No one’s slandering you, Owen,” Aurelia said calmly.

“Aury, you’ve misunderstood… Owen’s eyes turned red. “The truth is, I-”
But before he could finish, Theo suddenly stepped forward and punched him hard in the face.
“No one gets to insult my fiancée in front of me,” Theo said coldly, his tone commanding. “And let me make one thing clear–I’m the one who loves Aury the most in this world.”
The moment the word fiancée left Theo’s mouth, Damien’s sharp features darkened, his brows drawing tight.
“Aury, don’t be ridiculous,” Damien said. “Isn’t it me you truly want to marry? I’m willing to marry you. And just like Mr. Vance wished, I’ll love and cherish you forever. I’ll make you my one and only–no one else will ever come close.
“So, let’s not make a scene. The Marchand and Vance families are with Theo, it could damage both families‘ relationship.”
