Chapter 87
Felix claimed that Bright was taking revenge on him by faking his love for me. I was confused when I heard the contract thing for the first time. It was a fact that Bright’s dad died in a car crash, so he left his aerospace career. Then why was Felix lying like that?
Bright didn’t pay any heed to Felix’s accusations and pointed out the main gist of the issue, the one I forgot due to this mind–boggling conversation.
“You are here with new allegations; it must be your media team’s new strategy for public attention. Where are the cameras?
What is the trending topic you have selected this time?”
Felix acted innocent like he didn’t plan all the publicity stunts, giving explanations of all sorts. Bright contacted the hospital authorities to end this melodrama in my Villa.
“How can you be so irresponsible, Chief? Felix had heart surgery, and you allowed him to roam freely without full recovery. Don’t you know how dangerous it is?”
Although Felix protested, he couldn’t do anything due to Bright. We dragged him back to the hospital for
examination.
I scolded him at length.
“You are creating troubles for yourself, Felix. You should be more careful about your health.”
Throwing a dirty glare at his assistant, James, I tried to scare Felix with legal action.
“If you don’t stop broadcasting my personal matters, I will sue you, Felix. Your legal team won’t be able to save your
ass this time.”
I didn’t know which part of my threatening was so difficult to understand that Felix mistook it for my care, he held my hand and spoke happily.
“I know you love me, Drielle. Only lovers can think good about each other, your care has proved that I am the one in your heart.”
He wiggled his brows to mock Bright who was discussing his case with the doctor.
“Did you hear me, Bright? Drielle still loves me. You are just her rebound fling, a method to make me jealous.
I will strive my best to repent, Drielle. You will never regret loving me.”
Felix’s enthusiastic speech gave me a mini heart attack, catching me off guard. I was deeply disturbed by his confidence. Thankfully, Bright noticed my unease and asked the doctor.
“Please add psych consult for Mr. Felix in the schedule. He needs a psychiatrist for his mental illness.”

Chapter 87
It took us two hours to confirm that Felix’s assistants had deleted all the video from the cameras, they had urged Felix to leave the hospital to express his sincere love for me. It was beyond my mind how Felix could hire a team of lunatics, who were more interested in publicity than his well–being.
It was like paying someone to destroy your life!
Anyway, this hullabaloo wasted my day, I panicked to see the time on my way back. “Gosh! Jane and Zoe must be waiting for me!”
Due to the hospital’s formalities, I literally forgot to pick up my kids from the aerospace academy. They must be waiting for me after their science project presentations.
Bright raced the car towards the academy, and we reached there in half an hour, but Zoe and Jane were nowhere to
be found. Only their bags in the waiting room made my heart feel heavy in my chest.
I inquired about my kids from security staff, “Where are Jane and Zoe?”
The duty guard looked inside the room and gasped, “I saw them here fifteen minutes ago, ma’am. They were playing
…”
He was reporting to me about their game when Zoe walked out of the bathroom, wiping his hands,
“Mommy!”
I felt a bit relieved to see him and asked about Jane. “Where is your sister, Zoe?”
Zoe’s thin brows formed a high arch of astonishment as he looked around and spoke, “Jane was right here when I went to the bathroom. We were playing together.”
ely made an excuse and ran outside, “Jane must be buying candy from the vending machine,
up Zoe and we rushed behind him. My heart was thundering in my chest as a nameless unease iny head, popping worst–case scenarios. In addition to the vending machine, I ran to search for Jane in the emy halls, locker rooms, and bathrooms, but she wasn’t in the whole building. I was on the verge of losing my nind when Bright said,
“Let’s go and check the CCTV camera’s footage, Drielle. Jane will be safe, don’t worry.”
my sixth sense was signaling me that something terrible happened to my daughter, wasting a moment was putting her life in danger. All my fears were converted into reality when the security staff checked the videos.
The sight of a masked man in a janitor’s uniform placing a handkerchief on my daughter’s face sucked all the air from my lungs. My world crumbled around me as the tornado of reality hit me with full force.
“Jane is kidnapped!”
