Felix fought off police officers, making a fool of himself in public.
“I am a law–abiding citizen, a respectable aerospace engineer. You can’t arrest me for a fake video.
I demand a thorough investigation…”
His resistance left the police with no choice but to use force. The officers tackled him down, pushing him against the wall.
“This evidence has revealed the history of suppressing your business rivals, Mr. Felix. You have used unscrupulous methods for climbing to power.
The police officer warned Felix to cooperate, or else he would face more charges. His assistant knocked some sense in his thick head.
“Please go with the police, Sir. I will take Mr. Grant to the police station. Then we’ll plan our next plan of actions.”
The mention of his intelligent lawyers finally put an end to the shit show, Felix roared like a feral lion.
“My legal team will challenge this fake evidence in court. I will sue you for defamation.
I will see you all in the court.”
Felix reacted violently due to surprise; the hope of his legal touts fueled his courage. But it was all until his beloved media representatives met him outside the double doors of the hall. They descended on him like a pack of wolves.
“How can you take part in illegal practices as an aerospace engineer? Don’t you think you have disappointed your fans?”
I didn’t utter a single word after Henry’s proof, watching Felix’s ruination with a detached gaze was more than enough.
With Bright standing proudly by my side, I witnessed Felix’s journey from hero to zero, he lost his honor and fame simultaneously.
He tried to defend himself. “Please trust me. I haven’t done anything illegal in my life. Everything will be clarified in the court…”
My condescending glare fell on him, feeling no sympathy for this cruel man, he deserved this.
The composure Felix was proud of himself finally crumbled down around him. His turbulent emotions were crystal clear today.
A journalist sneered at his comment. “Would you like to explain how that video can change? You were plotting against Miss Drielle in the meeting, Mr. Felix.
You can’t deny it in court.”
The police officers made their way through the sea of enraged journalists, trying to end this presser, but in vain. Felix’s clarification became fodder for ridicule as he spoke up for him, pleading for cooperation.
The officers were pushing him inside the prisoner van when his panicked gaze met with mine.
A look of great astonishment swept across his face, watching that dumb and foolish Drielle Marlowe from the past. The girl he mistreated earlier was a strong businesswoman now.
I trusted him as a wife, relying on him for a smooth partnership. But he mistook it as my weakness, underestimating my talent.
But today, I proved to him that Drielle was never weak, she only made the mistake of loving her celebrity crush. And now, she is a business icon, only because of her wisdom and strength.
This fateful event of auction brought a sense of great jubilation to my life, calming my vengeful soul. The dream I had been following for five years, was finally turned into reality. Honestly speaking, it would be impossible to achieve anything if I didn’t have a strong support system.
In order to thank my two knights, I prepared a lavish meal at home.
My brother, Henry, was a die heart fan of home cooking, he mostly didn’t get a chance to have a proper meal because of the workload.
And Bright, he was a chef. I intended to show off my culinary skills to leave a great impression on him. Celebrating Felix’s downfall, we ate and drank together, cheering for our successful partnership. Henry got emotional to see me happy.
“It’s been so long, and I haven’t seen a genuine smile on your face, Drielle. I am so glad to have my lost sister back.”
Bright gently held my hand and added to Henry’s statement.
“This smile will be a new identity of Drielle, Henry. I will make her the happiest woman alive in this world.
All the females in Boston will be jealous of her.”
The sweet assurances, precious little moments, and lots of laughter, I pictured my life as a harmonious journey where Bright and I would make a warm home with Jane.
Five years ago, Henry had arranged IVF rounds for my baby, he later revealed that Bright was my Jane’s father.
The dark shadow of Felix had vanished from my world, and our lives were back on track, so I decided to look for a moment to share this news with
Bright.
We were at the stage of our relationship where I could share my deepest secrets with him.
Toying with the half–filled glass of champagne, I glanced at Bright, whose ringing cell phone had paused our celebrations.
He excused himself to reply to the messages; however, his fading smile flipped my heart in my chest. He scrolled the feed with such complex expressions that I felt a sliver of dread touching my spine, repeating all the occurrences of this week in my head.
Felix and Melody were in jail, Bright had won the first aerospace project of this season, and Jane was doing well in school. Then what was wrong?
