Chapter 71
Watching Oswaldo, whose personality was completely different from the confused and clumsy state she had seen him in at the hospital before, she blinked and then recited a series of numbers.
Oswaldo quickly pressed a series of numbers with his nimble fingers.
After beep sounds, there was a slightly questioning voice from Fredrick on the other end of the line.
“Hello, who’s calling?”
“Fredrick…” Lizzie started to say a word, and then someone else took over the phone.
“Lizzie? Is that you? Lizzie!”
Colton rushed into the bookstore and saw Fredrick picking up the phone, so he anxiously grabbed the receiver.
“It’s me, Colton, don’t worry,” Lizzie looked up and glanced at
Oswaldo, “I’m fine, I was taken away by Vivian’s family. Vivian was scared earlier and wanted me to accompany him. Now Vivian is a bit clingy to me and can’t leave for a while.”
Although no one said it, she wasn’t allowed to disclose her current whereabouts. But she knew a lot of research projects had to be kept confidential, so they just used Vivian as a cover.
Colton hadn’t met Vivian, but he heard about her from his mother yesterday.
“They were so serious, it was kind of scary.”

“Oswaldo’s identity is not simple.”
Colton also heard that getting a wheelchair is definitely not as easy as
it seems.
“I might need to stay here for two days, tell Glenna not to worry about me.”
“Yeah, sure…”
The microphone was leaking sound, so Oswaldo heard this and reached out to take the microphone that Lizzie had put next to her ear, and pressed the hang–up button.
Before the microphone could even be placed back on the stand, Oswaldo was already eagerly pushing her wheelchair out.
Behind them, with a “clunk,” the microphone slipped off the edge of the table and hung in the air, gently swaying.
Vivian stared with big round eyes, saw dad coming out with Lizzie, then opened her little hands, wanting a hug.
Lizzie and her dad just disappeared in front of her.
Vivian pouted, cheeks puffed out, and in a childish voice complained, “Daddy is a big meanie! He didn’t play with Vivian! He even took Lizzie away!”
Oswaldo left in a hurry. Before Vivian could finish her accusation, he had already pushed Lizzie into a meeting room.
Walking into the meeting room, Lizzie saw a stack of papers on the table, piled high and some scattered around. There were also some papers on the floor.
Her eyes scanned over one of the papers and spotted a familiar formula.

It’s the content from the report she wrote about semiconductors before.
She smirked, and her deliberately handed–in report did catch the attention of the higher–ups.
Great, her plan worked out.
Oswaldo pushed her to a large desk.
He then went to the opposite side and sat down, picking up a stack of papers filled with data.
His fingers were tapping on a complicated formula, with a frown on his face.
“Here, and here… there seems to be a break in logic, the deduction process is not smooth.”
Oswaldo was completely immersed in the world of research, with only numbers and symbols in his eyes.
Lizzie’s eyes skimmed over those formulas, and with her accumulated knowledge, she immediately saw the crux of the matter.
She clearly pointed out the problem and provided a more optimized solution.
“The introduction of this variable can simplify the model. The algorithm here is too inefficient, switching to this iterative way will be faster.”
“No, according to this circuit design, it’s impossible to achieve this kind of effect!”
“Let’s just change the material,” Lizzie said casually,
Oswaldo’s eyes lit up, “Yes, let’s switch to a better conducting

material!”
“Copper definitely won’t work, the cost of using gold is too high…”
“It’s bronze.”
Oswaldo was like he discovered a new continent, grabbed a pen and quickly wrote on the paper, “Bronze alloy, right! What about the ratio?”
Oswaldo was strong and down–to–earth, he didn’t look down on Lizzie just because she seemed like an 18–year–old girl. They quickly got along well.
His questions kept increasing, and if they encountered problems that current technology couldn’t solve, they would discuss together and find solutions.
One problem with Oswaldo is that once he gets into research mode, he easily forgets about time and everything around him.
One difficult problem after another, Lizzie easily solved.
Oswaldo was so excited that he was about to burst, looking at Lizzie with admiration in his eyes, even a hint of fanaticism.
Finally, when the last question was answered, Oswaldo fell into deeper thoughts, tapping his fingers unconsciously on the table.
Lizzie finally had a chance to rest, she leaned back in the wheelchair and felt her strength slowly draining away.
