“Madam Howland, you look much younger in person than in the photo. I almost didn’t recognize you just now.”
Then, her gaze shifted to Jasmin, with a smile still on her face.
“Jasmin was even more beautiful in person than in the photos. Indeed, the feng shui in the mountains is good for nurturing people.”
Johanna came up and started sweet–talking people, making Vanessa and Jasmin feel so happy and a bit confused.
Their vigilance quickly dissipated.
The two of them touched their faces at the same time, “It’s not as good as you said.”
Vanessa looked Johanna up and down.
This girl not only looked pretty, but also spoke nicely.
Compared to the cold and aloof Lizzie who only buried herself in research, she was like night and day.
“Oh, so you’re Theron’s friend,” she warmly grabbed Johanna’s hand, “Theron never mentioned he had such a gorgeous friend. If Theron hadn’t gone looking for that stupid Lizzie, I would have…hehe, never mind.”
Then she glanced behind Johanna and asked, “Where’s Lizzie? We came all this way and she didn’t come to pick us up. No manners a so rude!”

Vanessa’s voice went up again, full of criticism and dissatisfaction.
Johanna chuckled to herself, but reassured, “Madam Howland, don’t be mad. Recently, Lizzie and Mr. Howland had a little disagreement, and they happen to be not at Equinox Research Laboratory. I received a call from Madam Howland, worried that if you came, there would be no one to greet you, so I took the liberty to come.”
Vanessa first gave a grateful smile, took Johanna’s hand, and happily said, “Why are you being so formal! Your visit really helped us out a lot!”
Immediately, with a cold face, she snorted and said, “An orphan girl without any family support, daring to show off in front of my son! Give her a lesson! If she’s not at Equinox Research Laboratory, where is she? No manners without a mother’s teaching, no self–restraint!”
Vanessa kept getting angrier as she spoke.
Jasmin didn’t listen to Vanessa’s complaints, her eyes were glued to Johanna’s stylish and stiff coat.
She reached out and touched it directly, with obvious black mud between her fingers.
“Hey, your clothes look really nice, and the fabric is great.”
She fidgeted with the hem of her clothes, her eyes shining.
“Where did you buy it? Is it expensive? If not, I want my mom to buy
me one too.
Johanna’s smile froze for a moment, she fought the urge to shake off that dirty hand, her eyes quickly glanced at Jasmin’s dark nail crevices.
She took a deep breath to maintain the smile on her face.
“This is what I bought in Hurlton, the shopping malls over there… probably don’t have this style.”
She spoke softly, with a hint of subtle superiority.
“No worries, I’ll take you guys shopping later to see if there’s anything else that suits you.”
She paused, looked at Jasmin with cager eyes, and then added generously.
“If you really don’t like it. I can give you this… If you don’t mind that it’s old, you can have it.”
Jasmin immediately got excited, holding onto her arm tighter and couldn’t help but feel the fabric of her sleeve, “Thanks to Hanna for that!”
“Let’s go, I’ll take you to the guesthouse first,” Johanna smoothly pulled her arm back without a trace.
Johanna took the two to the best inn near the Equinox Research Institute.
The reception area was clean and bright, the room was spacious and well–lit, and the bed was big and comfortable,
Vanessa and Jasmin looked at the room in front of them, their eyes lit up, it’s much cleaner and more comfortable than their own home!
The mother and daughter whispered to each other, “Mom, Hanna dresses well and is generous. Could she be a rich girl?”
“Hey, now it’s not cool to talk about rich girls, maybe some big shot from a wealthy family.”
“Mom, you know a lot. If Hanna really is from a wealthy family, does it
help Theron’s future?”
“That’s for sure! Hmph! Johanna is definitely better than that Lizzie who killed her parents and brother! We need to figure out a way to her and Theron together!”

Theron finished training, then found out his mother and sister had arrived. He hurried to the guesthouse after reading Johanna’s message in the office area.
I saw Vanessa and Jasmin had already been arranged into the guesthouse room by Johanna.
I saw a pretty big double room, all neat and tidy, with white sheets and complete furniture.
I did a quick mental calculation and realized that the expenses here were not low.
Most of his salary was sent back home to support his parents. Recently, he has had a lot of expenses and doesn’t have much money left.
