“Report to the commander, we lost the person and I’m not good at tracking,” Jarred said, feeling a bit frustrated. “Should we call someone else to continue the chase?”
He was worried that people didn’t catch it, Lizzie would encounter more danger.
After all, Lizzie is the person Oswaldo cares about the most now. He even specifically instructed Terrence to take good care of Lizzie.
Terrence raised an eyebrow and said casually, “No need to chase after them. Tracking down kidnappers is the police’s job.”
“Yes.”
Jarred replied, then he turned around and brought Lizzie’s wheelchair over to the side of the road.
Then he looked at Lizzie and said, “Ms. Trevino, please get in the car.
Lizzie’s eyes widened in surprise, she was a bit taken aback.
Is that it then?
Jarred saw the surprise in Lizzie’s eyes and thought she misunderstood that Terrence didn’t want to get involved.
He glanced at the Mr. Iceberg–like man and said, “Ms. Trevino, we have a very urgent task at hand. In situations like this, any help would be appreciated for sure.”
“But for now, it’s obvious that this is not something that can be

resolved quickly. The follow–up investigation and handling still need to be taken care of by the local police. After all, we can’t do their job for them.” Lizzie nodded, leaned on her cane, and got into the car
After everyone got on the car, the Jeep started again and kicked up a cloud of dust.
Lizzie sat in the back seat, her eyes involuntarily glancing at Terrence’s back in the front passenger seat.
His back was as straight as a pine tree, even just a silhouette, exuding a strong and steady aura.
Jarred’s words just now, hit her heart like a stone.
She remembered Terrence’s actions in the woods, he deliberately distracted Jarred, he didn’t probe into where Jasmin and the Frazier family went.
Now, Jarred explained it like this again.
A glimmer of understanding rose quietly in her heart.
Terrence, maybe he already saw through some of her little schemes, but he chose to stay silent.
Even, to some extent, did he also agree with her words that being tolerant to enemies is being cruel to oneself?
This realization made Lizzie feel better unconsciously.
The car was bumping along as it drove forward. Just as we were about to enter town, through the front windshield, Lizzie saw a few figures. One of them was Emery.
“Can you please stop the car for a moment?”

Jarred also saw the person coming towards him, he had seen Emery before, so he slowly slowed down the car.
Emery was full of anxiety and worry, because both of her children got into trouble, and her face turned pale with fear.
They rode over quickly, about to pass the Jeep, when Lizzie rolled down the window and shouted, “Emery.”
Emery heard Lizzie’s voice and jumped.
The car rushed forward, and he suddenly slammed on the brakes, causing the sound of the brake pads rubbing against the wheels.
Lizzie covered her ears for a moment, then stuck her head out of the window, waved to him, and finally opened the door to get out of the
car.
After Emery confirmed that he hadn’t seen wrong, he threw the car keys and ran over.
“Lizzie, are you okay? What about Katherine? How is she?”
He shouted like that, and the person had already walked over, seeing Katherine being helped out of the car by Lizzie.
Emery’s heart that had been hanging finally dropped, and tears welled up in his eyes.
“Katherine! Lizzie! Thank goodness you’re okay!” Even though he saw the two of them standing in front of him unharmed, his voice was still shaking.
Katherine saw her dad and burst into tears, hugging him and cryin loudly.
The accompanying police officers exchanged a few words, two of them

exchanged a glance, and without delay, they rode towards the direction of the small forest to continue their investigation at the scene.
The other two police officers stayed behind, their gaze shifting to Lizzic.
Their expressions were serious, ready to ask for specific details.
“Ma’am, can you now tell us about the situation at that time?”
Lizzie nodded and then turned to Terrence, “Mr. Guinn, we’ve taken up a lot of your time. Now me, Emery, and the police have all met up. and we’re safe now.”
She finished speaking, blinked her beautiful dark eyes, and looked at Terrence, who had already gotten off the car.
The man, tall and imposing, just casually leaned against the army green Jeep, arms crossed. His gaze, calm yet penetrating, fell directly on Lizzie.
“Cross the river and then destroy the bridge?”
Lizzie unconsciously tensed up for a moment on her back, she awkwardly smiled, “I’m afraid of wasting your time.”
