No matter how hard John knocked on the door, it made no difference.
He was in a state of complete panic. The events from that time kept replaying in his mind like scenes from a film. He despised himself for not having noticed my odd behavior sooner. Simultaneously, he was terrified of losing me.
Eventually, he went home feeling defeated.
When Kelsie found out that John had been searching everywhere for me, she confronted him and demanded, “So what if Diana has left? Why are you looking for her?”
John looked down in silence, feeling dejected.
Kelsie grew even angrier and shouted, “Answer me! Did that bitch, Diana, try to seduce you again?”
John shouted back, “Don’t you dare call my wife a bitch!”
Kelsie’s voice rose to a high pitch. “Have you lost your mind? She’s your wife. So what does that make me?”
John looked at her steadily, enunciating each word, “I’m John. Adam died in that car crash.”
Kelsie was taken aback, as if she’d just heard a joke. She clutched his shoulders and shook him.
“Honey, what nonsense are you spouting? How can you be John? No! You’re deceiving me!”
John suddenly snapped and pushed her away.
“Believe it or not, I’m done pretending. Because of you, I’ve lost Diana. I’m going to get her back!”
Kelsie clung to his waist tightly.
“You can’t leave me.
“I don’t care if you’re Adam or John. You’re my husband, and I’ve come to terms with that. You must accept it too!”
John gently separated her fingers. “Listen closely. My wife is Diana, not you.”
Kelsie slapped him across the face.
“How could you deceive me!”
John shut his eyes in anguish. “I pretended to be my younger brother to take care of you for him. Now I’m revealing the truth. From now on, we’ll return to our rightful places.”
“What do you mean by returning to our rightful places?”
Kelsie suddenly realized something. “Diana already knew about this, didn’t she? That’s why she left.”

Without waiting for John to reply, she laughed loudly. “Do you think she’ll come back to you if you go looking for
her now?”
John’s face went through a series of expressions, while Kelsie watched with a cruel laugh.
“No woman can accept her husband cheating. She’s seen us together every day, and her leaving means she won’t for- give you!”
John protested, “That’s not true. Diana loves me deeply. If I apologize, she’ll surely forgive me.” With those words, John pushed Kelsie aside and dashed out.
Kelsie collapsed to the floor, yelling, “John, if you walk out that door today, I’ll end my life right here!”
In the past, John would always give in to Kelsie’s dramatics, but this time he refused to sacrifice his own well–being.
As Kelsie watched him walk away, she was in shock.
“Ah!” she screamed, hurling everything around her to the floor.
Just as John was leaving, he got a call from a maid at home saying Kelsie had tried to take her own life and urging him to return quickly.
Unmoved, he ended the call.
It wasn’t until his mother called, insisting him to come back, that he reluctantly agreed.
When Kelsie saw John, she emotionally declared, “John, I’ve fallen in love with you. You must love me and remain my husband.”
Observing Kelsie’s erratic behavior, he began to wonder if her fall down the stairs had been a staged act.
“Did you accuse Diana of pushing you down the stairs last time?” he questioned.
