“Why? Why are you always so cold-hearted to me?”
Veronica had tears in her eyes, couldn’t understand why, “You agreed back then, you agreed to marry me.”
He was the one who gave her hope first, telling her that he was willing to marry her.
Five years ago, she was filled with joy as she put on her wedding dress, holding her father’s hand as she walked towards him. Veronica thought that would be the happiest and most unforgettable moment of her life.
But with one light and casual move, he completely ruined everything.
He regretted getting married.

Howard was silent for a long time. Veronica kept urging him, and finally he seemed to snap out of it, looking at her with a determined look in her eyes.

“I didn’t want to marry Veronica.”
He dropped the ring he was holding tightly in his hand, then took off the groom’s corsage on his chest, and walked away
without hesitation.
The Wiggins family became the laughingstock of everyone in the circle, always scheming and planning but ending up with nothing to show for it.

He treated Veronica just like he used to ignore Gretchen before, let others bully Veronica just like he let them bully Gretchen before, he wanted Veronica to feel the same pain as Gretchen did back then.

The words were just about to come out of his mouth, but he swallowed them back forcefully. After a moment of silence, he decided to keep this matter to himself, “It’s nothing.”
Brianna naturally sensed his evasion, wanted to ask more, but also knew that Howard is now the spokesperson for the Wiggins Group. If he doesn’t want to say something, no one can force him to speak. She had to push the question back.
Anyway, to find out what happened, there’s always more than just asking Howard.
After a pause, she asked about another thing, “I heard you publicly hit Veronica today?”
Howard didn’t hide it from her at all, or maybe he just didn’t care. He casually nodded and got the answer. Brianna couldn’t
help but sigh.
“What were you thinking? If you really don’t like Veronica, just kick her out instead of giving her false hope and being cold to
her at the same time.”
Howard didn’t explain his intentions, his voice still carrying a sense of detachment and coldness, “I have my own plans.”
He definitely wouldn’t let Veronica leave so easily.
He wouldn’t let her leave until Gretchen came back to him at least.
No matter how long, he could wait.
But luckily, she didn’t make him wait too long.
