Chapter 11
Five years later.
The plane flew across the clear blue sky, leaving a white trail behind. Howard, looking stern, walked quickly ahead, while his assistant pushed the luggage behind him, following reluctantly without a word of complaint, just like the others who followed
behind.
“Howard, wait for me!”
The woman’s anxious voice echoed in the airport lobby, but the people ahead showed no sign of slowing down, instead they
walked even faster.
Veronica didn’t not notice Howard’s distance, but she just couldn’t bring herself to let go of this piece of meat that was almost
in her mouth.
Five years ago, they were so close to getting married, she would have been his rightful wife. But until now, she still remains jus a fiancée, sadly following behind him, waiting for him to finally stop and consider her. But most of the time, it’s her chasing
after him.
Over the years, the Wiggins Group has gained more and more influence in Beblistan, while the Crawley Group has gradually declined. The engagement between the Wiggins and Crawley families may be the Crawley family’s last trump card for a comeback. As long as the Wiggins Group is willing to lend a hand, the Crawley family can rise like the sun in the east.
Even after all these years have passed, even if Howard never once showed a smile to the Crawley family, the Crawley family
never once thought about divorce.
People were coming and going at the airport, Veronica’s voice didn’t attract much attention, but suddenly it fell into the ears o a woman who had just gotten off the plane on the other side without any obstacles. She paused for a moment, subconsciously looked in the direction of the voice, and saw nothing except for a figure mostly blocked from view.
This person is Gretchen.
Gretchen dragged her suitcase, looked through the glass at the unfamiliar yet familiar sky, and felt a bit dazed for a moment.
Five years later, she had already transformed from a poor orphan girl into a confident and outstanding woman.
Speaking of which, we have to thank the Wiggins family and Howard for their generosity.
If it weren’t for the 150 million they gave her, who knows what she would have encountered going to a foreign country all by herself. But thanks to that money, she not only finished the education she had to give up because of lack of money, but also got
a decent job.
Thinking of this, she remembered the name she had just heard, and fell silent for a moment. After leaving years ago, Gretchen never thought she would come back here again. When she finally made up her mind to return, she also wondered if she would
meet those people she once knew.
Over the past five years, countless times when she was dreaming in the middle of the night, she would always dream of the
same scene.
Dreamt she just picked up Howard.
It was already late at night, she had just finished her part-time job for the day, but on her way home, she saw a man lying in a pool of blood.
At that moment, all Gretchen could think of were the plots of the novels she had sneakily read to relieve stress.

She almost thought she had stumbled into a murder scene.
The thought of not wanting to cause trouble filled her mind, she instinctively wanted to leave, but he suddenly reached out and grabbed her pant leg, and with all his might said a sentence to her.
Save me, I will repay…
But before he could finish speaking, he passed out again.
Back then, Gretchen, who was still worrying about making a living, didn’t know that Howard was the top heir of the Wiggins Group in Beblistan.
Later, Gretchen also thought, “If I had taken some time to catch up on gossip news back then, maybe I would have known the truth earlier and avoided the later complications.”
It’s just a pity, there are no “ifs” in this world.
She still thought he looked good, so she “decided to take him to the hospital and paid for his medical expenses” as a way of repaying him.
Even afraid he would wake up and run away, so I took a day off just to watch over him.
But she never expected that after waiting anxiously all day, what she got was the news that he had lost his memory.
